Trump Has The Edge Because...

Trump knows the game and how it's played. That's why he's gonna make a good (maybe great) president, and that's why he doesn't respect the other candidates, he knows they're bought and paid for. Idiots like SwimExpert will never get that because THEY'RE bought and paid for.

Not surprising that Trump supporters are uneducated.

Donald Trump supporters did not have a very flattering picture painted of them by a new CNN/ORC poll.

Take it for what it’s worth, but respondents in the poll of Republican voters were found to be largely less college-educated.

Yahoo broke down the results further, finding that Donald Trump “runs significantly stronger among less-educated, less-affluent voters, and performs particularly well among voters in the 50-64 age range.”

I'm impressed. You can rhyme.

Oh wow, you just don't get it, do you? Trump did buy influence when he was in business so he knows the game and that game does not do anything for the country, just the buyer's advantage.

So Trump said.."No" to big donors. His influence is not for sale. Hopefully, he is going to make America great again...as it once was. The establishment on either side just doesn't work for the country as it once did. Sad but true...just wealthy politicians.

"I won't make a deal just to make a profit. It has to have it own excitement. Its own flair." - Donald J Trump

"Trump won't make a deal unless there's something extra, a kind of moral larceny, in it. He's not satisfied with a profit. He has to take something more. Otherwise there's no thrill."

Most people would agree that we need somebody like Trump who can't be bought.

You morons still don't get it. Trump is the one who does the buying anyway. What difference does it make to elect the man Trump buys, or Trump himself?
Oh wow, you just don't get it, do you? Trump did buy influence when he was in business so he knows the game and that game does not do anything for the country, just the buyer's advantage.

YOU still don't get it. It doesn't matter that there aren't OTHER rich guys influencing Trump to favor them. He already does it, because he's one of them.

Again, how do we think "Donations from rich guys are bad, so let's just elect the rich guy directly" makes sense?

Oh my God in Heaven. "We're tired of establishment politicians playing the game with rich donors. We need to show the establishment how mad we are by . . . voting for the rich donor, so HE can play the game that pissed us off in the first place!"

This is absolutely the most ridiculous, illogical "logic" I've ever heard. This makes leftists look sane.

And you just don't get it, do you? Electing the man buying influence will get you no better than electing the man who is bought. You poor idiot.
You don't work logic problems either, do you? Logic is not your strong suit.

1. Trump is not buying anyone's influence.
2. Trump is not accepting large donations from people, therefore, he cannot be bought.
3. So, it appears to many that if he does not make decisions on behalf of wealthy donors, who is he making decisions for? He says, for America. making it great again.

No, Trump decided to stop buying influence, cut out the middle man, and just be corrupt and pro-Big Corp. directly. How is that better?

Trump doesn't HAVE to be bought. He's already owned by one of the biggest political corrupters in the country: Donald Trump.

If he makes the EXACT SAME DECISIONS, does it matter if he's making them on behalf of other fat cats, or on his own behalf? And is there any reason to realistically believe that he'll suddenly make completely different decisions NOW than he paid for before?

So, it appears to many that if Donald Trump says the sky is purple, it suddenly is JUST because he said so.

Trying to make sense of cult thinking gives me a headache.

Man, this is truly delicious. You dumbasses really think that electing the wealthy donor will give you something better than electing bought tools. You're getting the exact same agenda, dumbass.

What, you mean you don't believe that Donald is miraculously going to make different decisions when he's in office than he paid OTHER officeholders to make?

A politician compromises his principals regularly. All it takes is greasing the palm and they vote no longer for what is good for the country, but what is great for their pocketbook or ensuring future funds for their continued employment as a representative "of the people."

Yeah, donations from rich companies and people are bad because it influences their votes. Trump is not accepting any donations from the rich and powerful but will accept donations no larger than $2700. That is the average Joe electing Trump directly...the constituency he promised to represent. And they are giving directly.

I am trying to follow your logic here. You are saying "Trump is owned by Trump." Not computing...

If he makes the EXACT SAME DECISIONS, does it matter if he's making them on behalf of other fat cats, or on his own behalf? And is there any reason to realistically believe that he'll suddenly make completely different decisions NOW than he paid for before?

When, let's say Trump was a mere businessman, his decisions were made to enhance his own brand. He gave to politicians to influence their votes to make his brand more viable.

He has a different job as POTUS. It's to enhance the brand of the USA. To accept fat cat's money understanding that that acceptance means using his own influence to directly oppose his branding of the US makes that donation unacceptable. The decisions he makes is no longer for personal gain. Yes, to accomplish his new goal is stating he will make different decisions because his goal is not his private entity any longer...it is the welfare of the country.

To say that cannot be achieved is denying any person can change their goals to achieve something for the country. Anyone who vies for the job of POTUS making completely different decisions as before.

Let's use Sanders as an example. As senator, his decisions were based on what was good for Vermont. Now his goals are changing and his decisions are going to be what is good for the US.

So, it appears to many that if Donald Trump says the sky is purple, it suddenly is JUST because he said so.

I believe you are just trying to pull arguments out of the air, when your real complaint is not that a candidate or POTUS can change directions, you just hate Trump. And that is your right. I'm not familiar with your ideology, so I'll just assume it's that particular candidate, not necessarily the party or conservatism in general.

Trump is definitely unique. He brings a skill set and personality that doesn't generally makes it way to the top in politics. We have, the good, the bad and the ugly. And that is the truth of the matter.
The good: successful in business that is not equaled by any candidate. That success is undeniable important in negotiating deals. He has high expectations for himself and those around him. He always works from a position of strength. He is a leader. A strong leader.

The bad: always being on top and successful brings with it, being surrounded with extremely competent people but they tend to be Yes men. People just don't normally cross "The Donald." So, he is thin skinned and doesn't take well to criticism when it is not constructive. It makes this personality, I feel, hard to "grow" and become an even more successful person...with it, "maturity." He is immature when he cannot listen and instead goes on the attack. and that brings with it...

The ugly: We have heard all of the schoolyard name calling and bullying from Trump. He lacks any kind of filter that adults generally have. He creates unnecessary chaos that stands in the way of an expected proper performance from a leader. The focus he has on himself is so great that he generally does not focus on the well being of others as being important. And that is a killer.

So voters must make a decision, me included, to get those positive attributes, one has to compromise some of the niceties we see with established politicians. Those "niceties" are generally a ruse where Trump is not politically correct and says what he thinks and means. But, it is cringing to hear him rail at someone when a less acidic posture would have been easier to listen to and probably more productive in the long run.

Can he "change" or become more genteel? Probably not. With any candidate, you have to take the whole package. Weigh the pros and cons and see where you land.
