I got an infraction in October 2013 for posting a picture of the politician Anthony Weiner with an elephant nose. The mod in question lost an argument with me an TK about a week before and I guess he took it personally. He called the elephant nose pornography.

Dispite my best efforts, all I could muster was a 4 point infraction for misinformation back in 2013 from Intense. I think he felt really bad about it.

Suggestion.

Maybe the modulators and or the Administrators could put up a thread explaining the basis for the banning of some members. Maybe it could be a public post lacking the tools to allow any of the non modulators and non Adminsitrators to comment on the "rulings."

This could serve some good purposes.

For example, if I were to ever say something critical of some other member of the USMB posting community using some choice terms -- and maybe doing it improperly in the "politics" forum -- and I know that's highly unlikely, but for the sake of the discussion, let's say "hypothetically" -- it is possible that one of the modulators might consign me and my posting privileges to the Village of the BANNED for a period of time.

In that case, my username would suddenly turn to a shade of pink. But nobody would neces-scarily know why. A modulator posting the reason in the suggested thread could clear that up for anyone interested in knowing what happened to me. BUT ...

it could also serve the educational purpose of advising all the others of the consequences of doing something as horrid as that.

Have mentioned this to Mods myself and their answer's been "it's private." Though I agree it'd be helpful knowing specifics so as not to duplicate them, can achieve this just as easily by rereading the Rules every so often.

I read the FAQs and Rules when I joined and I didn't see any explanation on how the banning system works. Did I miss the obvious somewhere?

Is it a one-strike you're out? Do temp bans look just like permabans to the outside observer? Are there demerits which you accumulate which then result in a ban?

How does the whole system work?

There are 60 shades of pink from "soft serenade" to "bashful"!

However if you are a male and can only see in 16 primary colors then they all just look pink.

All we gotta do is rename them. Like PigSpam Pink, Pink TrollLips, DarkBeasty Pink, HissyFit Pink Splash, etc..
