Lassie is far smarter than Goofy, despite the fact that Goofy can speak rudimentary English, walk exclusively on his hind legs, and manipulate objects with his hands and opposable thumbs.

Both dogs, however, require help to solve problems.

Lassie needs Timmy Martin.
