Ah, three strikes laws. and it was felony theft because children were involved, he just didn't grab a slice from the counter, so it wasn't just "stealing pizza". The punishment is for being a 5 time loser, not just for the pizza slice. He's also eligible for parole in 20 years.

I'd have no problem punishing him. Sending him to prison for life for a $2.00 slice of pizza is a bit much.

And Joe had to go back to 1995 just to find this one poor "example", and the guy got out after 5 years, and as of 2010 is on the straight and narrow because he knows one more fuck up and he's in there for good.

So you are fine with someone being disproportinately punished for a petty offense if you don't like them.

No one is paying six figures for harrassment now and the lesbo is cleaning houses instead of singing and running a children's museum.

We lock up 2 million people compared to 70 thousand or so for Japan or Germany. Want to compare our crime rates to Japan or Germany?
