I have used PP for over 10 years for my ebay store. You can trust them.

What do you sell on the bay? I'm making a thousand percent profit buying and restoring/rebuilding antique/vintage watches just as a hobby. Ebay is awesome easy money.

Agreed on accout verification. It lifts the spending/receiving limits. Good advice.

Awesome for you! Wow you have a talent.. I love to see old things work again.

You can fight a charge on Paypal and they can and will fix it in short time. Now you can even refute sells on eBay and other sources if the product wasn't up to snuff, and because Paypal is so widely excepted and important, companies will comply because they don't want to get a bad rating with Paypal and lose their accounts.

Only thing about that policy is that sellers get stiffed a lot. Some buyers abuse that system and ebay always sides with the buyer. Up to 6 months now, a buyer can cry foul.

If I sell a mint vintage Omega watch in working order for a thousand dollars I'm always scared to death the buyer is gonna say it doesn't work. Then they get a refund back and return an empty box.

It happens. You're essentially at the mercy of the honesty of the buyer.

You can trust them NOW. Before...not so much. They would hold ALL your money if just one ebay customer complained item was not as described. So instead of withholding just that amount for the item, they would freeze ALL your money. Until they got sued. That put a whoa to that REAL fast. :D

I don't have paypal any more. Then again, I don't sell online anymore either so no use for them.

We gotta get Gracie selling again..you love it just as much as I do..( The Old vintage stuff )

I am an eBay poacher. I simply look for the lowest absolutely best deals I can get, and if I lose out, I won't over pay. I've picked up some killer comics lately, and tons of authentic autographed UFC stuff.

Do you buy from China...a couple of times I needed something fast/cheap and realized I bought it from China. It took 3 weeks...Blah...

.

Nope. Bought some Funko Pops that I thought were a good deal, found out there were from China and 60 days later when they finally arrived, they were not only damaged, but fake. I had bought like 4 of them before I had gotten the first one, and ended up having to put in a ticket for ALL of them, and was given my money back from eBay. I had to sign a paper that I destroyed them because they were fake and a copyright infringement product, and email the form back.

Did you read their seller feedback first? But most times everything is fake from there.

I have bought computers on Ebay, laptop, and tons of little things..

You have to really know what you are selling because people can take advantage of you..I tried selling dolls and got ripped off could have gotten so much more.

Can't you get the money back for that? its horrible..wow. I had some chubby lady rip a satin nightgown and said it came that way..

Did ebay help you with that?

Nope. It only happened to me once. Worst part is that ebay won't allow sellers to leave negative feedback on buyers.

Yeah but here is the thing. The sellers in China get banned all the time for selling fake and cheap stuff, so they just open new accounts. And they will get feedback real quick because they will have people bump them up by making bogus purchases. Best thing is to just not buy anything from China unless it is some cheap electronic part you don't care will break in a month or two. I bought a computer fan for like $1, which included shipping... I have no idea how that is even possible, but it is. If it breaks in a few months, I'll just buy another one.

I know we're straying off topic here, but do you know what the best gig is on ebay? Selling used, worn, unwashed panties to dirty old men. The longer they've been worn, the more profit they fetch. Even more of a profit if pics wearing them are included in the listing. So, ladies, there you go. There's money in them drawers with ebay and paypal.

Eeeeyew. Haha.

Okay, sorry, bye.

OP, good luck with your upgrade.

But the thing on that is, if you paid for shipping insurance couldn't you have turned that in?

What is hot are the old vintage items like we got into..otherwise it is just crap from China and they clog up the search engine with hundreds of the same piece of junk.

That's why they have that box you can click now that it only shows you items from the U.S., or North America.

A hey and hello. td here. We've never used paypal can you tell me how this works?

If you want to make a single "non-subscription" donation, the best way is to avoid a PayPal account if this is the ONLY use you have for it. Just "mail it in". Place your Username and USMB on the check memo line or include a note. If you remember your registration email account -- you might also include that as ID along with your return address.

We hope you will find these benefits worthwhile and that you will consider supporting USMessageBoard.com! For members that do NOT wish to use PayPal and want to become a Supporting Member you may also send a check or money order to: Forum Foundry Inc. PO Box 3503, Cedar Park, TX 78630. Please include the forum you are supporting and username on the check or money order. Thank you for your support!

*Note: No refunds will be given, even to banned accounts.
**Note: Your shipping address is required to mail you the bumper sticker.
***Note: This is NOT a Recurring Subscription.

Don't forget your shipping address. Gold members are REQUIRED to put the Bumper Stickers on their cars or tractors. ---- (just kidding)..

Yes I do that now, thanks... Did you know that some US stores drop ship as a base for China so you really have to look at the expected date to be on your porch or mailbox.

You can't do it straight paypal cuz if you do, usmb has it set that it will take donations every year..or was it every month?...that the amount was set for. It has to be done another way but like I said..I forgot what CK said was the method to make sure that doesn't happen. Talk to a mod. They can steer you correctly.

It does not auto charge me every year. I have to go in and pay again.

Can't. I am on SS. Plus, I was doing it when it first started way back when. I got totally burned out. Especially when Meg Whitman took over. I miss the days where you could call them on the phone and speak to a person there and if an item sold after the auction, you could just call and says "item such and such sold after all. Lady is sending a check. Take your cut".
That was when they were fledgling business.More seller friendly. Now? Not so much.

I just don't understand how someone can ship something from freaking CHINA for cheaper than I can mail something 25 miles away.

Not a problem with using pay pal but how do you do it? you have to remember I just got out of dial up when I moved to our new house. Think the Flintstones when you are talking to me.

Doesn't matter if its dial up or satellite, it all works the same, only the speed changes, and even that isn't always true, so don't worry about 'stone age', we're still there, really, and besides, what is out there doesn't improve in quality of content with speed, just quantity, so you were never really missing anything anyway. lol

I would use the mailing address, and entirely avoid doing anything to do with financial matters online, especially with bank account routing numbers and the like. You might want to try using a gift card or something if you insist on online transactions; some of them allow transfers to Paypal accounts. I don't know a single security expert who doesn't use cash almost entirely, and keep their online footprints as tiny as possible, just FYI and heads up.
