You Can't Rape the Willing!

I generally agree except I would relax it a bit and say that people should only have sex with those they are in love with. In my book, it is OK to have sex with someone as long as you genuinely love them. Of course, this can sometimes open up a whole can of worms, such as in extramarital affairs. But generally speaking, I agree with your post.
I used to believe the same thing, that premarital sex was OK if there was "love" involved. I am 1000% against this today and I have so many reasons for saying that, reasons that may not have much to do with my Faith directly, but rather, reality. The Church is where I got disabused of the notion that premarital sex was OK, but I am also a logical person and the Church never defies logic (despite the accusations against it).

Like I said, people break up and the other one doesn't want to and some people take their lives over t his kind of thing. Then there's the problem of having children without a father or maybe w/o a reliable one.. Fornication ruins lives and destroys society, like termites destroy a house.

It is NEVER indicated. God knows that but most people don't consult Him, especially when they think they are in love.. but humans know virtually nothing about real love. Only God (Jesus) does..

Oncev an individual decides that marriage is not under consideration they can have sex with whoever they want. Understanding, 9f course, that there is no marriage in the future.

That's a bad view of things.

One should NEVER fornicate. Like I said, it destroys lives and society.

What's a bad view of things? Once someone knows they will not marry, they are free to take any lovers they want.

“ Peaceful Rape “: Whoopie Goldberg

Whoopie never said any such thing.

She just said that Polansky wasn't accused of "rape-rape", he was accused of having sex with a minor.

A minor who has asked that people just stop bringing it up, and is on good terms with Polanksy.

It's absurd people are still going after him for this, 50 years later.

Having sex with a minor that he drugged into unconsciousness. He vaginally and anally raped this child and put her in the hospital. Due to the drugs, she has no memory of what was done to her.

Why do people bring this up? Because Polansky was tried and convicted of his crimes then escaped and fled the country. If he comes back he goes immediately to prison to begin serving his sentence.

Can’t wait til he croaks ( Even though “ Death & the Maiden “ was one of my Top 100 movies of the 1990s

Well, you are leaving out a few items.

Like she wasn't unconscious.

And she was not a virgin.

And that the prosecutors agreed to a time served sentence that the judge decided to renege on.

She was certainly unconscious. Whether or not this minor was a virgin is immaterial, nless you are justifying Jeffrey Epstein's sex with 16 year olds because they weren't virgins.

No judge is obligated to accept a plea agreement. Polanski was guilty, sentenced and fled. If he comes back he can start serving his sentence. Stop trying to find this child rapist innocent.

No, what he did was still a crime, and he served a sentence for it that the prosecutor at the time was satisfied with.

He served the sentence he agreed to.

The prosecutor took the plea deal because you had a not terribly sympathetic victim vs. a sympathetic defendant (celebrity, holocaust survivor, wife and child killed by an insane cult.)

Back in those days, you could bring a victim's sexual history into the courtroom. That's why the prosecutor didn't want to go to trial.

As for Polanski... um, yeah, he fled the country, and who could blame him? He fully cooperated, did what he was asked, and a glory-seeking judge tried to screw him.

No judge is obligated to accept a plea deal. If he objected, he goes to prison and files an appeal. He comes back, he starts serving his sentence. He's a child rapist of the worst kind. You should be ashamed of yourself.

And no defendent is obligated to stay in a jurisdiction where his rights are being violated.
California has tried for years to get various countries to extradite Polanski.

Every last one of them has said "No", because even they can see this was a farce.

He's not a child rapist of the worst kind. He's an adult who showed bad judgment. Once. Fifty Years Ago.

He didn't show bad judgment. He got screaming drugged out, drugged a child and repeatedly raped her then fled AFTER he was sentenced. Come back, start serving. It's no different than if he had escaped from prison.

Show me where a person escapes from prison then says give me a pass, my rights were violated.

He didn't escape from prison; he was released from prison after serving 42 days of a 90-day sentence.

The supposed Child has repeatedly said that she holds him no ill will and to just knock it off. She's probably sick of the media parking on her lawn every time Polanski is nominated for an award.

He FLED THE COUNTRY.

Of course the girl holds no ill will. Before she was drugged she kept saying no. That didn't work. She was unconscious the entire time. She has no memory of what happened. This child was 13 years old.

Based on your statements, Jeffrey Epstein should never have been bothered by the pesky rape claims.

"You can't rape the willing" seems to be a recurring theme in some of the comments that I've been reading lately. Especially, when someone is talking about the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and Maxwell.

"They were prostitutes," "they were well paid," etc.

Not to come off like a Law and Order SVU episode, but can't even a prostitute be raped?

My family is (was) very large. My father was the oldest of twelve. I was raised with my aunts and uncles after losing my mom at a very young age.

So, we had quite a span of ages of aunts and uncles about the house on any given day. Some of us were in elementary, some in middle and some in high school (and starting to date) - all under one roof.

I think I was around 10 years old, and one of my older aunts was about to go out to a game, date, or something. My Grandfather didn't like what my aunt was wearing, and I remember him being very stern and telling her how he felt about it. I was too young to remember everything he said but I do remember him saying, "you can't rape the willing" and then explaining it.

The gist of it was, if you go out dressed like that, have some guy attack you. Don't come home crying that they took advantage of you.

He also used to say, "Why should they buy the cow, if they can get the milk for free?"

It took me a long time and having a daughter of my own to know for sure where my grandfather's heart was in what he was saying. However, I think he would also agree with me, that even a hardened professional prostitute can be a victim.

It may be true that "you can't rape the willing" but the key word in that is "willing." It's not in the choice of work or the choice in how one decides to dress.

It would be great to see if anyone agrees with me on this.
Sex with no intention of marriage and commitment is what ignorant women let men do to them. It used to be that the intention of courtship was a man showing the woman and her family that, as a prerequisite to even dating, he has a good economic foundation and is trustworthy. Feminism has eroded all that and now, a woman can act like an unpaid prostitute with reckless abandon.
