How do you resize a photo on Instagram?

How do you resize a photo on Instagram, on my pc?

I loaded some photos on there, but they are way off the edge of the screen.

I messed around with all the choices I can find on there, but nothing resizes the photo.

I looked at some Youtube videos for doing this, but they either are not informative, talk too fast, or can't understand them.

I just want my photos to fit the screen on Instagram.

They changed the image ratio. It used to be square, and now it's taller. (3:4)

If all you want to do is crop it, here's a site I sometimes use:

But if you have a Mac, you can resize it or crop it on your computer, using Preview.

Um.... you can do that in paint as well. It is extremely easy.
When you open a pic in paint, it is already ready to resize. See those little white squares? You can adjust the size that way. There is a resize ratio button right at the top. Click it and you will see 100 x 100. Think of that as 100% by 100%.
Type 65 in the first box, and it will automatically enter 65 in the other.
You just reduced it by 65%.
It doesn't get any easier, and it is super quick

GIMP is not, at all, made for everyday people wanting to do simple things.
It is notoriously hard to use. Over 20 years they have done little to improve that fact.
At least with Photoshop, it is intuitive and logical. GIMP is not.
I say that, after having used it for years at home. I have used Photoshop since 1998. That gives me a heckuva edge on using GIMP because I understand the process.
If you don't. It might as well be in Russian.

So, what y'all are saying is I can't resize ON Instagram, I have to use a third party app or program?

So.........how big or small do the images have to be, saved on my pc, in order for Instagram to post them the correct size on there???

If you make it these sizes, Instagram should not alter it.
Again, in Microsoft Paint - the size is shown when you click on the change size button.

My saved pictures are not even this large. Yet they are cut off if I load them onto Instagram.
