You plebes are too dangerous having the liberty to freely move around on your own.

Saying the quiet part out loud.

This is how they will foist EV's on us and limit them only to those who can afford a home and a rapid charger.

Subscriptions are gonna be a way of life for some. Many companies belong to a co-opt for plane ownership. Makes sense in cars if you dont utilize all the time. Why is this some freedom restricting red flag?

Currently Joe Biden is seeing to it that we can only drive electric cars that explode into flames when the batteries die.

That should convince a few people to take the bus I should think

Then again, if the bus is electric...................never mind.

Every totalitarian regime wants to curtail travel by the masses. Owning a vehicle is too much freedom for the useless eaters that need to be controlled "for our own good".

People want to use ride share or any of that shared crap, knock yourselves out but don't ever try to take away rights to own, operate & travel in privately owned personal vehicles.
I see a lot of lefties are on board with more control over their lives.
They never think things through very far, do they?

According to the paper, “The average car or van in England is driven just 4% of the time.”

Could make sense to belong to a car sharing program
agreed that works in some places for some people

years ago when i was in undergrad and living in a big city, there were car sharing programs. I wasn’t a part but thought they were interesting ideas

Very true
You would have to have a phone app to reserve your ride or call an Uber
May not work for all

Then why go with the whole "re-think car ownership" authoritarian bullshit?

The people that don't need cars probably already don't have cars.

Without cars you are stuck with walking, biking or government owned transit. That's a feature for the progressive elite, not a bug.

Who said anything about it being mandatory?
Looks like it would make economic sense for many.

Most families have two or more cars
Having one car and using car share or Uber for other purposes could save you money

Yet local governments continue to crack down on uber, causing the cost of uber to go up......

Whenever progressives propose anything, it has to be mandatory for our own good.

Exhibit A and B are the ICE new vehicle bans in CA and NY starting in 2035.

ICE’s days are numbered

Then why ban them?

They didn't have to ban horse buggies for ICE vehicles to take over.

And ICE vehicles will only go away naturally if at all when you can charge an EV as fast as you can fill a tank of gas.
ICE will go the way of the horse and buggy

Auto manufacturers are no longer investing in them
