Ex-Labor secretary Robert Reich claims Elon Musk 'out of control,' says regulators should 'threaten arrest'

I suppose. The point is, an American citizen has the right to post an opinion about, say, vaccines, even if it’s not true.

That’s the way it is and the way it should remain.
No, it should not remain as such.

Maybe people should wake up to the fact that the internet isn't all that honest (just like a lot of people).

It is used to lie, sell, and shame.

Maybe people should start to think about how it is they get information and start to develop those routes outside the net.

I have NEVER trusted the net for anything substantial.

I walked out of the Kansas City Airport next to him.

He is really short.

I had to resist the urge to stomp him into the pavement.

Why so violent? Violence must only be reserved for those who try to destroy or harm another.

Yes, it should.

Freedom of speech is freedom of speech. It does not mean freedom of only that speech that everyone agrees with or likes.

If you don’t like or agree with someone else’s speech, you have the right to disagree. That’s the beauty of free speech. Simple, huh?

I watched a documentary on this guy and his economic policies are awful. Truly for elitists who will lose every geopolitical battle if you allow them to rule the roost.

Now the man who defines the term "overrated: and who has received too much ink in his life goes after Musk for allowing free speech on his platform.

What is it about free speech that frightens so many? What other Constitutional Rights do they intend to undermine?

Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich, who served during Bill Clinton's presidency, wrote in a column published Friday that Elon Musk was "out of control," and argued he needed to be reined in.

"He may be the richest man in the world. He may own one of the world’s most influential social media platforms. But that doesn’t mean we’re powerless to stop him," Reich wrote, including a list of six things people could do to rein in Musk.

After Musk purchased Twitter in 2022, now known as X, Reich deemed the purchase "dangerous nonsense." He argued Musk's purchase was "just about power," rather than free speech.
Marxism. most especially in its fascism/totalitarian stage, cannot coexist with free speech.

I look at the internet like I look at any other form of media or communication: it is both a blessing and a curse. AI will be the same. It will be used for good by those who intend to use it for good and it will be used for ill by those who intend such.

And just like with broadcast media, books and magazines and other forms that came before, it’s up to the individual to sift through all the data to look for patterns of truth or untruth.

Not simple at all now that we live in the days of Trump's alternate facts and a giant disinformation machine.
If only it were so simple.

Not if people believe his lies and die. He can be sued and help liable for that one.

He posted that the murderer of 3 children in England was a Muslim Refugee. That was a lie. Racial riots ensued.

Elon Musk posted that an Apartment Building in Chicago had been taken over by immigrant criminals, and that was a dangerous hoax. The building had been swatted.

They posted similar things about a building in Colorado. It had long standing crime problems, not related to immigrants.

Elon Musk needs to have twitter returned to responsible ownership that doesn't tolerate hate speech and lies.

People believed Democrat lies and died.

Biden posted/said Rittenhouse was a white supremacist. That was a lie.
Elon Musk posted that an Apartment Building in Chicago had been taken over by immigrant criminals, and that was a dangerous hoax. The building had been swatted.

Democrats posted that Sandmann was a MAGA white supremacist and harassed a Native American veteran. He, his family and school received death threats.
They posted similar things about a building in Colorado. It had long standing crime problems, not related to immigrants.

Due to anti-Trump rhetoric on social media, multiple people wearing MAGA hats, including kids and elderly, were assaulted in public.

Like who, the guy before him who tolerated hate speech against Trump supporters and Republicans? It was precisely the reason Musk bought Twitter in the first place.

We could do this back and forth into next week and it won’t matter because both sides are guilty of promoting false information and false conspiracy theories.

The point is, you don’t get to say what is misinformation and what is not. No one does. And given that the federal government pushed their own misinformation, they are hardly in a position to make that determination either.
