Why did Bernie quit? I don't get it. I am neutral on him, his ideas are far off from mine but he did have a chance against senile Joe.

Jeez dude. He ran as a self declared socialist on the Democratic ticket. Popular with the under 30 set, but not the most solid voters in the world, and pretty much unacceptable to the normal democrats and independents (like myself) old enough to understand the proven legacy of hard core socialism. The writing was on the walls, all of them. Not enough crossover republicans to get him the nomination so donnie could beat the shit out of the self proclaimed Socialist. No hope for even a divided convention now, the only reason trump supporters are upset that he is out of it and planning to do what he can for the Democrats to send donnie home. I don't know what donnie is going to do. The right wing could tease the Hillary into running, so he could run against her as a villain. She was a god send last time. Trump couldn't coerce Ukraine to play ball, so he didn't get any dirt to stick to make Joe a villain anywhere approaching his own villainy, and just got himself impeached for his trouble. He hasn't been able to get Barrack Obama to come out and play for Joe (when trump needs him so much), so he hasn't been able to run a proxy campaign against Obama. Now he has lost the possibility of running against the socialist. Without a villain, he's screwed.

Yeah, the socialist wasn't such a good idea was it. Maybe for the unemployed basement dwellers going to political science school. My God man, what is this country coming to. I'm 65. Be gone soon and happy to go. Don't want to come back either.

I've got a small hunch that part of Bernie's decision to drop out might have had something to do with the pandemic and shelter in place orders right now. I'm guessing that they did this to stop the divide and get the Dems together before the general. Sanders didn't drop out until really late in the game last election, and that is part of the reason Hillary lost. Bernie now has to try to get his supporters to join with Biden.

Get the dems together? Huh? They be scattered to the 4 winds long ago.

Because the winds had clearly and undeniably turned against him. He didn't have a the smallest chance, now that the Biden machine had sputtered to life.

It was clear that the very best he could have hoped for was a contested nomination, which would undoubtedly at this point gone for Biden.

So it was either lose soon or lose later, but he had already lost. It was just going through the motions of losing, that he had to look forward too.

In my personal opinion Bernie Sanders left the race so the Democrats can rally behind Joe Biden.

At this stage of the election year Sanders realized there was no path for him to win the Nomination and knew a brokered convention would just turn his voters sour once again and most likely kept them from voting in key swing states.

Just my opinion...

And why not. May as well run a dementia freak than a commie freak. WTF man? Why can't Dems find someone to run? I'm not trying to be nasty, just look at it? Biden? OK, run a decent VP with hm so when he tards out in a couple months the VP is it. OK it's a plan but who is the VP?
