Objectively, Jesus told Peter that he, Peter, was a "stone" but that he, Jesus, was the "rock" upon which he, Jesus, would build his church.

There was little in Peter's life to recommend him as the foundation of the church. The whole Peter/pope scheme is based on the mistranslation of a single word: "and", which should be properly translated as "but" upon this rock..Jesus Christ.

Revelation 12 is pretty good evidence. The 1260 day/years comports well with the beginning of the RCC until the beginning of the Reformation, when the church came out of hiding.

That is evidence of my position as well. Calling Peter "a stone" was a retort. Jesus was contrasting the "stone" of Simon bar Jonah with the "rock" which was Christ, himself.

Even Peter calls Jesus the "rock". He is referred to as a rock in several other places as well.

Jesus gave all the disciples/apostle the authority to bind and loosen, heal the sick, etc.

Nowhere is the Holy Spirit referred to or treated as a "person". The Holy Spirit is the efficacious power of God's word, not a person. Evidence, that it is never included in the greetings to the churches.

In the Greek language "spirit" is gender neutral, neither male nor female. The neuter pronoun "it" should replace "he" wherever found.

Why was Jesus sent?​

Jesus was sent to bring about the immortality and eternal life of mankind. Through the resurrection of all mankind, Jesus has brought immortality to all! Through the atonement of Jesus Christ, if mankind will but humble himself and follow the teachings and commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ and repenting of their sins, they can also obtain the kingdom of heaven. All mankind will be saved by resurrection but only those who follow Jesus will be able to find themselves in the kingdom of heaven. The gospel is there for all to take in.
