The disciples likely knew that something was about to change. Jesus had to remind them that they, as well as himself, were still under the Law.

Because his intent was never to start a new religion, just instill Jewish values.

I doubt that either Jew nor Christian can speak to Jesus' intent. For example, Jesus commanded his Apostles to go out and proclaim his teachings to the entire world. Next there was his declaration of his divinity, that he and God were one. Then, Eat my body, drink my blood. Jews were to be a people set apart. Christians were to go among people who sin. Jesus, the final sacrifice, so no Temple sacrifice. Jesus, risen from the dead.

I wish very much for one faith, one religion, but I also see too much to overcome. The very reason Christianity came into being is that, from the beginning, these differences could not be overcome. If there is a way of overcoming them today, I don't see them. Jesus noted this division. He said his coming meant there would be difference--beginning with families. Parents and children divided; siblings divided with each other; and so on with in-laws, etc.

Jesus prayed his followers be as one--and even this wouldn't hold together for long, it only took a matter of centuries for division in Christianity as well.

When you say you want one religion, you mean one that believes Jesus was the Messiah, or son of Gd, or whatever?

Also, the reason I think Jesus had no intent to cause Jews to abandon Judaism is because he himself was a good Jew. No good Jew would do such a thing.

IMO.

It is interesting how Christianity and Judaism essentially started from the same religious texts, but Christianity was created, taking a very different view of Jesus and the Afterlife. Then a few hundred years later, Mohammed "received" new texts from the Angel Gabriel and created Islam. Then a thousand years later Joseph Smith "received" yet another set of religious texts from the Angel Moroni and created Mormonism.

Christianity was created because the abstract god of the Jews was too complicated for the average person. So they dumbed it down, used the ancient hero story from the Greeks and created an idol named Jesus.
God eating was an old primitive ritual.

No. One that believes it's about loving God rather than following rules.

Only one was God revealing himself to man.

So one could say Judaism is just a dumbed down version of the sumerian religion.

And one would be very wrong. Genesis was far ahead of its time as it describes evolution, mans inherent need for meaning, describes human psychology perfectly and were absolute monotheists.

The Sumerians were polytheists and worshiped nature.
Religion and Mythology:
  • Polytheistic Pantheon: Worshipped gods representing natural forces, including An (heaven), Enlil (wind), Enki (water), and Inanna (love/war).
  • City Patrons: Each city was believed to be owned by a specific deity, to whom a massive temple complex (ziggurat) was dedicated.
  • Human Purpose: To serve the gods

Yeah, they just morphed them all into 1.
Its hard to deny they got ripped off, man.

No, I do not mean any specific religion. In this world, this life, people cannot agree. We each have unique perspectives that keep us apart if we are to be true to ourselves--even when we would love to come together. God, Himself, will bring us together, and we will adore Him for it (among other things).

Good Jews--as well as all good people--cannot abandon themselves. For example, both you and I--and the majority of others--would not abandon our faith, our country, our family, and many other things. But each one of these can abandon us. There were those in Jesus' time (as in all times) were leading the Jewish faith away from its original foundation. For example: Annas and Caiaphas were two powerful people who were at odds with Jesus and the early followers of Jesus' Way.

Christianity corrected Jewish misunderstandings of God.
Correction, he came to address the hypocrisy of the religious leaders, and inform them that the reason there was a temple, was not for their own wealth and social stature, because they were obviously not there to be representatives of God.

I should say not all of them. Some like Nicodemus were good eggs by in large.

He then did away with the Temple and the religious structures with a new and better covenant, reaching not just the Jews, but the entire world.

But many Jews today wish to return to the Temple and keep their religion away from the rest of the world because they preferred the way that it was.

You do know thats a laughable claim.
Not in the least. It's a documented fact. Your people - not you because you reject God - made it about rule following. Jesus corrected that and made it about loving God which you do not do.

That too but that wasn't his main message. How did Jesus summarize all laws?

Again: You don't know enough about Christianity to reject it. You don't know enough about Christianity to accept it.

Try your post again. Begin with, Judaism began in order to..... Keep with what you know and accept. Keep silent about that which you don't know.
