Republicans can’t outlast President Obama on Supreme Court nomination battle

Yup, now we know why Congress has such a dismal approval rating. The obstructionist Repubs have shown their true colors. They announced that they were going to block Obama's selection, even before it is announce. They are making their obstruction and disdain for America very public.

Their Party before Country attitude may finally be dooming the GOP.

GO DONALD!

Again:

"Supreme Court Justice Lewis Powell was a moderate, and even before his expected retirement on June 27, 1987, Senate Democrats had asked liberal leaders to form "a solid phalanx" to oppose whomever President Ronald Reagan nominated to replace him, assuming it would tilt the court rightward; Democrats warned Reagan there would be a fight.["

Nothing new, and both sides are at fault.

that was june 27th though, and its only feb 14 now. No way reps will hold off confirmation for a whole year.

The GOP must decide, do they want to vote on Obama's SC nominee and get a moderate-liberal judge on the court. Or do they want to obstruct for nearly a year and lose both the WH and the Senate and get a very liberal judge on the SC. They need to choose their poison carefully. McConnell is going to work off his second and third chin in trying to get out of this one.

If they delay this for a whole year (2 sessions of the SC), it will bode even worse for them than when they shut down the government for 24 days.

Why? Simple.............the SC kept pushing cases back to the summer session, many issues which are very important to this country.

Nope, they've painted themselves into a corner on this one.

It's not difficult to ignore the screaming and sit on one's hands. Parents do it every day.

Haaaa the worst timing for Cruz...Like Obama should wait a year to vote one in, he is comical.

I think that they would rather make America hang in limbo , than to Get America right on track after this death.
And Fuck Turtle face McConnell

.

Senate Democrat should put a up a Count Calendar of Number of days Obstructing Obama Nomination for Supreme Court

Day 100 of Senate Obstruction ...and so forth

Fox Reporting.....Death of Scalia , Benghazi , the E mails ...a possible connection ?

One thing the GOP obstruction does is that in all the controversial decisions before the court this year the best they can do is tie which will result in the lower court decision being upheld. That means that not only the GOP loses all the decisions that they would have lost 5-4 at 5-3, they will lose ALL the lower court decisions that went against them.

What are the going to do when Bernie ( or some Democrat whose name shall never be spoken ) wins?

Are they going to DEMAND that he not appoint a Justice and wait until they can win an election?

Republicans DO NOT HAVE A RIGHT TO A PERMANENT REPUBLICAN MAJORITY ON THE SUPREME COURT.

The Founding Fathers < wanted > the power to shift as the changing winds of politics shifts ... that's why they made it an odd number of Justices.

You were saying? Only Republicans?

If they block a SC nominee all the way up to the elections, people are going to be pissed and vote for everything BUT a republican.

The first SCOTUS had 6 justices.

They can't have Barry's choice in there, Barry already has his way on everything.

Might as well have one party rule(mob rule)...

You're right, the first SCOTUS did only have 6 justices, but rulings were required to be a 2/3 majority. As the nation grew, increasing the number of districts, they SC also was expanded until finally they decided to settle on the number as being 9.

You've gotta provide all the information, not just cherry pick.
