It's absolutely possible to find fraud in social security, Medicare, Medicaid. They already have lots of systems that are looking for it, finding it and correcting it. No system is perfect and can always stand to have some improvements.

The fraud is not massive and even if we had perfect systems, it's not going to solve the budget issues we have. And, at a certain point, finding the fraud is more trouble than it's worth. It can be costly, and can be burdensome to the people who need benefits and aren't committing fraud.

Whatever DOGE is doing, it does not appear to be a serious attempt to solve anything.

Social Security paid for my friend`s daughter`s college education and so many other things it was never intended for. The girl I speak of is a deaf mute, but her parents can easily afford to pay for her education. I worked double shifts in a steel mill to pay for my kid`s college while these people are planning their third Alaska cruise. There`s no fraud here, but WTF?
