Why not a solar world

At present 92% of new generation in the US is solar and wind. That percentage will only increase. How just who the hell do you think is making those investments?

Yeah, because the government isn't allowing fossil powered plants to be built. It ain't because they are so great.

And as EV's take over the vehicle market, how much longer will they bet on losers? Shell is already changing many of their stations into EV charging stations.

MANDATING ISN'T "BETTING", you clod! The only reason why EV's are being mandated is because they SUCK!

If they were awesome EVERYONE would buy them because they are AWESOME!

Duh

We already have nuclear reactors that operate efficiently.

If you're worried about nuclear waste sink it in a subduction zone and let the earth swallow it.

*****SMILE*****

:)

You call paying 5 times as much for the electricity from a nuke efficient? And that little piece of idiocy concerning the subduction zone is a sure fire recipe for disaster.

You continue to be a fucked up liar. Tesla has most of their production for their models sold well into the summer months of this year.

What a liar you are. California, bowing to corporations, is trying to heavily tax people who put in solar, just the opposite of what you are spewing. Musk opposes that, and I think Newsom had better rethink that move, or lose a lot of his support.

Bowing to pressure from the California utilities, the CPUC is proposing new net metering rules (NEM 3.0) that includes a “grid access” fee of $8/kW of installed solar per month – in addition to other fees – that could add between $50-$80/month to the electric bill of a home solar customer. If adopted, this would be the highest solar fee anywhere in the country, including states hostile to renewable energy. In addition, the proposal would reduce the value of bill credits for solar energy sent to the grid by about 80 percent.

Unbelievably, the California utilities and CPUC also proposed to change the rules for customers who have already signed contracts and purchased a solar system, which violates basic principles of fairness. Under the CPUC’s proposal, customers who installed solar under the NEM 1.0 and NEM 2.0 rules – which were guaranteed to be in place for 20 years when customers enrolled – would see their “grandfathering period” reduced to 15 years from the date they installed their system, after which they would go on NEM 3.

Gotta remember....what's going on in California is a mega-anomoly. It's an experimental playground to see just how deep a dystopia the people will put up with before the bloodshed starts.

Washington State and California just a couple of steps from full-on China.

Let's see how that turns out :iyfyus.jpg:

So what. They are too expensive, and too limited for most people. The GOVERNMENT is telling companies to change over to EV's.

There is nowhere near enough real demand to drive that change.

Pull your head out of your lying ass.

yes, it is a fairly obvious idea to use solar energy with a "fusion generator" like the sun, but the current level of technology isn't enough to switch to using only solar energy. And at the same time, the use of fossil fuels is also the use of stored solar energy).

Why not, the US's renewable energy production (including hydrogenation) accounts for 19.8% of all generation, and building a nuclear or coal power plant takes longer than installing solar panels.

and talking about investment, Bill Gates begins building his advanced nuclear reactor in Kemmerer, Wyoming.

Roxy thinks suburban soccer moms are lining up to pay $120K for a grocery-getter.

Roxy is completely disconnected from reality.

A bit simplistic and silly, but with some very good points;

Because solar is a shiity source of electrical power in an industrial economy. Not concentrated enough,.

Any more stupid questions Moon Bat?

Because you are ignorant in things like this I am going to assign you a science experiment.

On a sunny day go stick your arm out in the sun. How much heat do you feel? Enough to run your refrigerator compressor? How about enough to power a fully loaded dump truck?

What happens when a cloud comes between the sun and your arm?

How about at night?

Log your observations into a book because you will be questioned on your results later.

Fossil fuels work because they are essentially a million years worth of sunlight concentrated into a samll package.
