30 year old solar still producinging

Wonder how much energy is produced when the panels have about 3ft of snow on them? A friend wants to know?

View attachment 1235127
Dumb ass, that is about 3 inches of wet snow, already sliding off the solar panels. You silly asses destroy your own nonsensical talking points.

You guys always sound like salesmen getting in on the government subsidized green energy frenzy. Most people are not against green energy. They are against paying twice to three times more for anything that uses energy. Who the hell are you to force this down someone else's throats.
Stupid ass, solar and wind are the least costly generation to install and maintain. We are going to need vast amounts of new energy in the coming decade, and people like you are going to cause the vastly more expensive gas and nuclear on the rest of us. Not only that, it is not us making the decisions on renewables, but the bean counters in the utilities. Even as the malodorous mango tries to stop it, those damned ultra-liberal Texans are installing wind and solar left and right.

We know doesn't have any....YOU!
You are correct. Within two years not only will the solar panels be cheaper per panel, and each panel will have 30% or more efficiency, but we will have a much friendlier government toward renewables, both private and utility. I will buy then and the home I recently bought has a large roof area, so I can actually make money on the solar.

Theoretical maximum efficiency is 33.7% you anti science boob. You've been yapping about solar power for YEARS yet you have ZERO personal experience with them.

How about you shut your pie hole till you actually have some real world experience.

Quality made solar panels in Switzerland are still producing at 80% or more of their original rating after 30 years. Given the advances in efficiency, they will probably be replaced simply because the new panels produce so much more in the same space.

Congratulations three months per year in Portland when you see the sun you dumb OX.

Dont try me panty-sniffer, I've lived in Eugene-Elmira (Corvallis 40 mi north?). I know all about it.

1 day ago — Trump to reimburse French energy giant $1B to cancel wind project, invest in fossil fuels. In an about face, France's TotalEnergies.

Under the new agreement, TotalEnergies will invest some of the $928 million in reimbursed funds to develop a liquefied natural gas export terminal along the Texas Gulf Coast.

Trump is such a moron.
Which is really insulting morons.

You like killing birds? You like annual maintenance 100' up to the blades using 700 gal of oil? At enormous cost. You dumb 🐂 OXYEN.

OMG!

Oil companies get to deduct their expenses before they pay taxes.

SUBSIDY!!!!!!

Probably $100K now in CA on median home roof. Then you got illegals crawling all over your home causing leaks and lawsuits.

Just use the wall plug and SHUP.

Thanks for the link!

Congress should repeal the billions of dollars per year in fossil fuel subsidies, including for carbon capture and fossil hydrogen.

I agree!

Wasting government money to capture CO2 and pump it underground is one of the
dumbest greentwat ideas ever.

And that's saying a lot.

Quality made solar panels
READ: Extra expensive premium panels when made, not the shitcan stuff the government subsidizes for the usual consumer.

in Switzerland
Where it is cloudy all the time adding longevity to the panels by avoiding the searing heat of 7 day week hot sunlight of Arizona.

are still producing at 80% or more of their original rating after 30 years.
In other words, their output is down by 20% or a full fifth.

Given the advances in efficiency, they will probably be replaced simply because the new panels produce so much more in the same space.
In other words, their still working is meaningless to selling the efficacy of solar since even in this case, these panels still need replaced every 20 years working or not to maintain close to 100% efficiency and to keep them apprised of the latest in technology.

And that leaves out the event of if they had been hit by a storm, high winds, heavy hail or something destroying them or their blocking your access to your roof to replace the shingles, etc.

i went out to visit my son at Lamoore NAS and near the base was a solar farm with lots of panels caked in 3 inches of dirt. Since the area was under drought conditions as Gavin Newscum prevented water to get to those areas, i asked when it rained here. My son replied in February. So for 1 month March, the panels would be at peak output, then after the dust settles again, a major set back for solar power output. Stupid *****, i learned all about crap like that when i was in the miliary. Sorry that your brain is broken, because you are such a gullible *****.

The waste of subsidies and Tax breaks continues.

The photo shows the big damage well.

Tornado Levels Billion-Dollar Solar Farm, But The Coal Plant Didn’t Flinch

by Energy Bad Boys and Mitch Rolling

March 17, 2026

Excerpt:

On Tuesday, March 10th, an EF-1 tornado destroyed the Dunns Bridge Solar I and II facilities owned by the Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO). [some emphasis, links added]

The facilities, located outside of Wheatfield, Indiana, had 2.4 million solar panels, totaling 700 megawatts (MW) of power capacity, and reportedly cost $1 billion to construct—a little over $1,400 per kilowatt (kW).

2 days ago — A sweeping plan to build 21 gigawatts of solar plus batteries on 136,000 acres could be a lifeline for Central Valley farmers.

The Valley Clean Infrastructure Plan (VCIP) envisions converting 136,000 acres of land into 21 gigawatts of battery-backed solar power — nearly as much utility-scale solar capacity as has been installed in California to date.

“This will be not only the largest project in California, or the largest project in the United States,” said Fortune, a third-generation farmer and the district’s board president since 2022. “This will be the largest project in the world.”

Batteries currently face limitations in providing sufficient energy storage for renewable sources like wind and solar, as they typically store energy for only short durations (one to four hours). This makes them inadequate for meeting long-term energy demands, especially during periods of low renewable output.
