Zone1 Why is it so tough to believe in God?

As usual, you like to say things but don't give the Bible reference. Give the reference for what you are saying or just shut up as usual.
Hebrews 10:26. If this scripture true then you are screwed. Good luck yourself! Believer.

And have a nice day!

Hebrews 10:26, If this scripture true then you are screwed. Good luck yourself! Believer.

And have a nice day!

I will have a nice day. Because I can show how ignorant you are of Scripture, which you don't believe anyway.

(Heb. 10:26) "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins."

Oh my, that sounds horrible, doesn't it? And if that was the only verse God gave it would be horrible. Yet, look at what is really being said..

The purpose of (Heb. 10) is to show that the One Sacrifice of Jesus Christ is superior to the many sacrifices given under the Mosaic Law. The continual offering of the Mosaic sacrifices proved that they were inadequate to remove the sin. (Heb. 10:1-4)

But when the Son, took on a body of man, and became the Sacrifice, that changed. (Heb. 10:5-10) And verse 10 says: "By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."

In other words, no more need to offer any other sacrifice, Christ one time sacrifice is sufficient. (Heb. 10:18) "Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin."

Then the verse you perverted. (Heb. 10:26) "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins."

That doesn't mean if you sin after you have believed then you are now lost. It means the One Sacrifice of Jesus was enough. You don't go looking for another as they did under the Law. There is no more offering for Sin. Jesus sacrifice covered it all. (Heb. 10) shows the superiority of the One sacrifice of Jesus as opposed to the many continual animal sacrifices under the Mosaic Law.

In other words (Heb. 10;26) is true...but you are a liar.

You are deluded. But for some mysterious reason I don't feel sorry for you.

The truth is that you are accountable for your own words and deeds whatever you pretend to believe. The evidence of this is that you are an idolator who openly perjures himself in the name of my God and brazenly desecrates the teachings of Jesus, mortal sins, which is a demonstration of pure hatred for the Hebrew God who is one and his messiah who was just a man. You have your reward already. DEATH, a curse that you so perfectly display. Jesus dying on the cross doing the right thing does in no way save you from the guilt and penalty, death, a curse, for your sins doing the wrong thing like murder.. Every oblivious post of yours underscores this point.

Jesus died trying to teach the Jewish people that Kosher law was not about food. But it is about something.

Above your grasp.

Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that Christ appeared to do away with sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.

My children, do not be misled. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as God is righteous. The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.

If I were deluded, you would explain how, by showing the truth about (Heb. 10:26), which you brought up. But because you can't answer my response concerning (Heb. 10:26), it proves you are full of shit and a phony...as has been proven many times already.

And just as I proved you, not only ignorant, but manipulative, concerning Scripture, so have I answered you several times concerning (1 John 3:4-10).

You are a phony who uses the Scripture but doesn't know the Scripture. And it's your hope that when you use the Scripture deceptively, that no one will notice.

I'm here to destroy that 'hope' of yours.

You really shouldn't be ashamed of what you believe.

Maybe one day you will have the confidence and guts to admit it........maybe.

:dunno:
Can't even snap out of it. Stuck on stupid. And lying. You're making Baby Jesus cry.

Baby Jesus doesn't exist. Jesus Who has been given all power and authority in heaven and earth, does exist. And He isn't crying.

The choir is busy practicing singing hymns, hence the decision to enter discussions on a religion forum. Here's a thought: Those who find me irritating have the option of putting me on ignore. I always look forward to your responses to me. They always make me laugh, which Reader's Digest gave me to understand, is Good Medicine. So, thank you, it is greatly appreciated.

is that the same as the present gov't - their options ...

Trump says 'seditious' Democrats urging US troops to refuse illegal orders should face death

the desert dwellers habit of killing and silencing people who respond to their interpretative "religions" - and their claims of innocence for the most draconian book ever written they use for their purposes.

howabout them waking up to goodness for a change.

Set Up for Serfdom

You ought to put your own superstitious self-hypnosis delusions on Ignore. You are not really hearing your own thoughts; somebody has transformed you for his own goals.

The thread title is "Why is it so tough to believe in God?". If you don't like someone sharing the Gospel or talking about their experiences with God, go somewhere else. This is the IDEAL place for someone to "preach".
Not if someone is directing his posts to his own cult, expecting us to be merely an audience listening to that cult's echo chamber

You do not have to listen if you don't want to. That's the point, the thread is open to preaching and if you don't like it, don't participate. You can just simply allow people to say what they want to say, even if it makes something inside you cringe.

With These Nutsos, Man's Laughter Is Manslaughter

So I can't defend the innocent, who are too intimidated to talk back to these pushy Bible-bangers? We have a right to present the other side by exposing that these are just self-glorifying bullies who have no rational point whatsoever.
Mel Brooks said, in reference to his satire on Nazis, that the only way to deal with these minds set in stone is to mock them mercilessly.

You can say what you want, but you can't tell others to stop preaching. They don't have to listen to you.

Discussion should not be centered on another poster nor the assumptions being made. Try sticking to the discussion points of religion, faith, belief. As for the assumptions: Don't pursue the lie in assumptions has been good advice. Again, wishing you well.

Is it because:
  • Lack of belief we are lovable
  • Lack of belief we are cared for
  • Lack of belief God is an active agent in our lives
  • Lack of belief we have a reason for being
What blocks people from believing in God? Why is it so hard to believe?
Who says it's hard?

Since it is you who I'm talking to. And your arguments I'm addressing. Arguments that are riddled with fallacies it's inevitable that I will point them out.

For instance me and Hobelim disagreed. We went back and forth addressing each other's points. Until we got to a resolution. There was no evasion or rethorical tactics, simply 2 people disagreeing.

Make better arguments and I won't focus on calling out your tactics. As for my "assumptions", "assumptions" that are perfectly in line with the thread topic, I simply note that you still didn't address the premise, which is the only way to prove those assumptions wrong. If you think whining about me hides that fact, you are mistaken.

One more, to really drill it home.

Discussions require 2 people talking to each other. If one person can simply evade whatever they don't want to talk about it's not a discussion but 2 people holding a monologue.

Strawmen, category errors, faulty analogies, begging the question, and any one of the dozen or so ways I've seen you use to avoid addressing what is said are the rethorical equivalent of cheating. And I call out cheaters.

If you don't like that feel free to not reply, because that will never change.

I'll be here though if you really want to talk about why people believe or not. And we don't need to agree about it, just be honest to each other.
