Why guns are more of an issue than terrorism

Fear is not rational, so of course terrorism is the bogeyman. Guns on the other hand are a symbol and they represent whatever advertising has created in the mind of the listener. That guns equal lots of deaths doesn't matter as the listener still hears. The dead are statistics only. Anyone who thinks an armed world is a safe world buys into an imaginary world in which an object comes to be mommy or government or the NRA. Their protection against whatever devil they fear, a metal security blanket.

'Fuck You, Guns'

What right does he have to demand I lose my rights?

A day in America

"3 adults, 1 child found shot to death inside Alaska hotel room
Police: Man shot dead while trying to stop man from beating woman
3 shot while hanging Christmas lights amid fight with driver
Good Samaritan fatally shot outside Northwest Side Walmart
Accused Charleston church shooter Dylann Roof competent to stand trial"

In fact, two mass shootings in Europe generated more victims than ALL of the mass shootings in the USA over the last 20 years.
Woo hoo. Cherry picked data without links. Must be a rightard.

There are plenty of threads where the links have been included. Talk about spamming a subject. We have destroyed the fanciful talking points of the progressives for years, and then they trot out yet another thread spewing the same old disproven bullshit. How about you come up with some new material.

Right, we should strip gun rights from 99.9% of law abiding citizens because of the lawless actions of .1% you gun control nut jobs sicken me.

What's funny is even in country's where gun control laws are the literal wet dream of the gun control crowd, gun violence occurs. In fact, two mass shootings in Europe generated more victims than ALL of the mass shootings in the USA over the last 20 years. It's not the gun. It's the bad people who use them. Currently the progressive mantra is to disarm the law abiding in some retarded hope that then the criminals will somehow not need to use them. We even had one moronic progressive make the claim that it should be OK for the criminals to use guns and that the legit civilians need to be disarmed so that the criminals don't get hurt.

That's the level of idiocy that you clowns have sunk to.

I've already proven you wrong once about six months ago with regard to all the US mass shootings vs the two in Europe. As for your other nonsense, it has been proven over and over again that the US being armed to the teeth doesn't stop mass shootings. And it still has the highest deaths via per capita via firearm than any other western country. So your belief that having your peashooters makes you more civilised - and shootings less likely to happen - is total crap.

The article itself is an exercise in burying your head in the sand and adopting a herd mentality. This is typical Auzzie culture.

With regard to shark attacks, Auzzieland has some of the biggest most fierce sharks in the world -- the Great Whites.

"Not me worrying" about this could lead to death and disaster.

A more logical rational approach would be to bring a spear or spear gun with you.

I prefer spears when I scuba, rather than spear guns. But either is fine.

Actually, the point was, if you even bothered reading the article, is that beaches are visited 10s of millions of times a year by people. The chances of you being attached by a shark are minute. As the writers pointed out, most Yanks think that Muslims make up 10 percent of the US population, when the real number is less than 1 percent. Peoples' perceptions, and the actual truth, are at odds. That was his point. A bit like the gun nuts' belief that a society being armed to the teeth is a safer society. Going by US stats, that is clearly untrue.

The Auzzies however according to the article supra would prefer to bury their Auzzie heads in the Auzzie sand however.

Nah, just prefer a more civilised society, instead of a gun nut's wet dream...

All this stuff about 'protecting the family' is just BS. I've seen those CCW loons walking around like they're the sheriff in town, strutting around like they are cock-a-hoop. Most of them just wanna be "big man on campus"...it's pathetic...

You would not live long in the USA.

Someone would rob or rape or murder you fast.

I read the article.

It sucked.

I carry concealed every day, every minute of every day, everywhere I go.

This compels me to be constantly vigilant to protect the gun itself as well as me myself.

Nobody (not even you) knows I have it since it is deeply concealed within the waistband and under several layers of clothing.

I avoid petty conflicts and converse only with known friends never strangers.

That's what vigilance is.

Ah, and just to prove my last to you...paranoid android....

Worried about shark attacks or terrorism? Here's how to think about the real risk of rare events

For example, a poll conducted by Chapman University in the United States suggests that 38.5% of people were “afraid” or “very afraid” of being a victim of terrorism. This is despite the fact that only 71 people in the US were killed by terrorism between 2005 and 2015. To put that into perspective, PolitiFact reports that 301,797 people have died from gun violence in the US over a similar period.
The first thing Hitler did was confiscate the guns from the Jews.

There is a reason why all gun grabbers are big government lovers.

No, you dumb ass. What is needed is to reduce the easy access to guns. And control what kind of people can own assault weapons. I have a friend who who and shoots a .45 Thompson. He jumped through the hoops to be able to do that legally. The same rules should be applied to any gun that you can squeeze off 30 shots in under 10 seconds. It is effectively a machine gun.
