What an ignorant bitch.

Looting bothers us SO MUCH MORE than “black people dying every day at the hands of police”?

Who said that? Can she name anyone?

How come a police officer killing one black man bothers her so much more than the tens of thousands of black men who kill other black men in Democratic run municipalities every year?
The perception that people care more about looting than police violence comes from the media coverage of the riots. The center of attention is being shifted away from police violence to the violence of rioters which defeats the purpose of the protesters.

yeah right

I'm not a fan of hers but when you look at the whole context of the the discussion, it appears to me she's isn't defending looting so much as pointing out that it's ridiculous to be more upset about looting than at the loss of human life.
1 man, which is bad. But how many more has been killed an lost their livelihood over 1 man dead?

It's still early, the media wants to keep this going. Notice how thousands of people in a little space won't spread cova?
I started a thread on how the rioters could spread the virus. The media and dem holdovers are never going to let a crisis go to waste.

It's a beautiful thing when democrats accidentally slip up, let their guard down, and get HONEST with the public!
She can't understand why looting bothers people more than black people dying at the hands of the police. That is not a slip up. That's what she believes as do most sane people.

When protests turn violent as they often do with such hot issues, the protesters lose public support which was the very reason for the protests. The public begins to sympathies with small store owners who are being hurt. Protesting police violence does about as much good as protesting death and taxes. Nothing ever seems to change.
Well, you kinda answered your own question. The death of Floyd was really the act of one bad cop who was only there in the first place because Floyd had apparently done something criminal enough to warrant it. Floyd's own actions were the trigger and the cop responded as his job required. Only the EXTENT of his actions were wrong.

But the looting is by people who came there of their own volition, through no specific action against them, and to rob, damage and destroy private property owned by people and the community who had never done a thing against them.

Big difference.

The people looting were sent there by the thugs who planned this whole thing.

This stupid assed Seattle far left radical council woman can't understand why looting bothers people. Does this mean she approves of looting? Obviously.

Is she not a Democrat? Looting and rioting is the last resort when all other ways fail. Just latch on to an incident ,stir up the savages ,and let nature take its course. Russia failed.Recounts failed. Impeachment failed. Illegals failed. Now it is time to RIOT. The Dems are still trying to overturn election 2016. The Commie way.

I stand 100% with looters destroying black and latino independent shops for social justice ..for the cause,! For real justice! For George Floyd! To end racism

The bronx ,Philly, Minneapolis, LA..lol the numbers keep climbing

The social justice warriors are destroying large numbers of small independent minority owned businesses

Tell us again the reason for these riots ?

In the coming decades, more and more elected officials will hold that councilwoman's views.

How anyone can think that the United States has a rosy future is beyond my comprehension.

During the 1990s riot here in Los Angeles, a key figure asked: "Can't we all just get along?"

The current insurrection shows that we cannot. So let's find a way to have an amiable divorce.
We can get along just fine, but the problem is having uncivilized people in a civilized society; lowlifes who look for an opportunity to benefit themselves over a dead body.

When something like this happens, we do things in a civilized way. We investigate, have a grand jury hearing, possibly charge the law breaker, and serve justice under the law.
I agree100 percent.

The problem is that those "[ ] people" you reference are never going away and will continue to multiple.

There is no hope for our nation.

My question is would they still be singing such a song even after they became a victim of the act? They do realize that looting is stealing, right?

God bless you always!!!

she was making a comparison.

Tammy Morales: “People are willing to do those repairs and I’m extremely thankful that nobody was injured there. But what I don’t want to hear is for our constituents to be told to be civil, not to be reactionary, to be told that looting doesn’t solve anything. It does make me wonder and ask the question why looting bothers people so much more than knowing that across the country black men and women are dying every day and far too often at the hands of those who are sworn to protect and serve.”
-------------------------------
you right wingers are so concerned about looting , but not about death of the Blackman.
Many businesses are weary of those areas. And have a right to be. We all pay more for the stealing and game splayed and this has not even slowed down over many years. The stores that are there have markedly lower quality because employees are not as good or caring, the quality of chain store fast foods is markedly different with cleanliness issues to boot many times and supermarkets often have fresher items passed their shelf dates. And this is with the ones that are fewer and far between. Most of the white Progs who cry a river, never give up much of any of their comforts. Start giving your wealth away. Or shut up.
They have ins, and tramp said he would take care of them. Who broke into the stores??
Most insurance policies, business, residential, and even auto policies, do not cover civil unrest.
And even if they did, the insurance company isn't getting the money they pay out from a printing press in their basement. The business owners pay that money in, and they're going to have to pay more in every month after an event like this, even if the insurance doesn't pay out for it, because the business is now a bigger risk.
Of course we all pay bigger premiums to cover insurance claims.

What a fucking ignorant bitch. How do you left wing fucktards vote for people who don’t even understand how insurance works?
I'm going to assume the "fucking ignorant bitch" and "leftwing fucktard" in question is Penelope, and not me.
Nope, it’s the socialist Seattle council member quoted in the OP.
Ah. Also valid.

Not if we don't plan to stand up for civilization, instead of throwing up our hands in defeat.

Someone should ask the idiot if she would approve of people, unknown to her, breaking into her home and taking all her personal possessions for themselves. Both stealing from her home and stealing from the stores, is in effect, looting. The store owners counted on selling those items to customers, to pay for their livelihoods, whether the owners own large stores or small mom and pop stores.

No, she ASSUMES that looting bothers people more than black people dying at the hands of the police, and then she adopts a tone of moral superiority and condemnation on the basis of her assumption.

The truth is that decent people across the nation, of all races, are outraged at George Floyd's death, while also considering rioting and looting to be evil and unacceptable. Most people are able to object to multiple forms of evil all at the same time. We're even capable of differentiating between protesting and looting.

To be honest, the looters and rioters are a much bigger and more urgent problem. As outraged as people are by what happened to George Floyd, the cops involved were fired and the main guy has been arrested and is being investigated, charged, and prosecuted. Basically, that's a problem that has been addressed. The rioters and looters, on the other hand, are still rampaging around and causing danger to people, with not a fucking thing being done about them in some areas.
