Zone1 why do some Protestants think that only they are Christians and the Catholics are not?

Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Baptists, etc we are all just eating different flavors of queso from God's perfect TexMex cafe.
So what are you saying?

All people of faith must come together to eat the cheese and solemnly cut the cheese to live happily ever after?

Due to tribalism, there will always be some who believe they and they alone have the answers while no one else does. You could ask the same question of Catholics:

Why do some Catholics think that only they are Christians and the Protestants are not?
i dont know any Catholics who think so. 😊

As the Church of Rome maintains, and its faithful all confess, that it is the "true church established by Christ", they exclude all who do not agree from being anything other than heretics. There is no other way to slice it.

Catholic, Protestant? What's the difference?

If they both worship Jesus as if he was God then they are both idolators and, if scripture is true, dead and in hell.

That would explain a lot.

"There are dead people everywhere. Walking around like regular people. They can't see each other. They only see what they want to see. They don't know that they are dead."

hobelim

what then is the name for your ideal belief?
There is no name. I am not given to fantasy and do not maintain any unsubstantiated "belief". You want a name?

You are what you is? The Yahad of God? Followers of the WAY? Chews for cheeses? IDK,, I'll get back to you.

The evidence shows the first Christians did worship Jesus as God.

The evidence of the 24,000 written manuscripts explain why the first Christians worshipped Jesus as God.

The evidence of the Babylonian Talmud confirmed Jesus performed miracles and and made blasphemous claims so he was put to death for sorcery and inciting apostasy.

As predicted.

it seems that in the US the term Christian often means Protestant only

and excludes Catholics

why is that so?
For the same reason sports fan hate other teams. Rivalry.

Rival religions attack their rivals. Been going on since the beginning of man.

No.

I told you that there is no name for any ideal "belief" because I am not given to fantasy and do not hold on to any unsubstantiated belief and gave you a few options. What "belief" would you call bearing witness to the truth?

15th post
then you may give it a name
Thanks! lol. I will now call it, "Bearing witness to the truth". Satisfied?

I was thinking that "new riders of the purple sage" had a nice ring to it but that name was already taken.

The evidence is that no early Christian worshipped a trinity or Jesus, a Jewish man, the expected Messiah, as if he was an edible mangod. That did not happen until Rome assimilated and perverted Christianity in 325CE and created the antichrist, in the image and likeness of Mithras, with all the powerful miracles the lie that scripture is to be taken literally. Mithraism was the existing secret Babylonian MYSTERY RELIGION of the Roman Government and military. Before that there was no celibate priesthood standing between "believers" and God.

Thats a fact.

Mithra was born on December 25th. Called "Birthday of the Unconquered Sun", it was incorporated into the church in the 4th century AD as the birthday of Christ. Although Jesus was born in October, Christians today celebrate Mithras' birthday, believing it was Jesus' birthday.

A trinity godhead comprised of Mithra (divine god of truth), Rashnu (divine god of justice, judgement and righteousness), Vohu Manah (divine spirit of enlightenment). These three persons were separate yet they were one.

Before returning to heaven, Mithra was said to have celebrated a Last Supper with followers, who represented the twelve signs of the zodiac. In memory of this, his worshippers partook of a sacramental meal of bread marked with the Mithran cross of light. This was one of the seven Mithraic sacraments, believed to be the models for the Christians' seven sacraments, which follow them identically.

Mithraism was an ascetic, anti-female religion. Its priesthood consisted of celibate men only.

A total dodge. But what else should we have expected from a subversive who doesn’t want people to know Christianity began immediately after the resurrection of Christ.
