I'm always amused when someone who never served in the military is going to lecture me (an 11 year veteran) on how it "should" work.

So a compromise. You can quit the military if you object to a specific war (instead of war in general), just like any other employee has the right to quit when he's asked to do something that offends his conscience. But you also forfeit all veterans' benefits if you do.

Seems reasonable to me.

I'm a realist. World War II was justified.

Korea was probably justified, but Truman screwed up by not working with China to prevent the war from escalating.

Vietnam was outright effing criminal.
As were Iraq, Afghanistan, and Iran.

Iran is a destabilizing entity. Get rid of the Mullahs and a lot of everyone's problems go away.
