Zone1 why do some Protestants think that only they are Christians and the Catholics are not?

Thats why you cannot see the deeper implications.
There are no deeper implications of Leviticus 18:22. Leviticus 18:22 is a command against a certain sexual practice among a list of commands against other sexual practices.

So while you are free to disagree with that command, you are not free to rewrite it to suit your own preferences.

Your mind has been defiled and contaminated by the poisonous flesh of talking serpents. Thats why you cannot see the deeper implications. It freaks you out and feel self loathing for your own latent homosexual tendencies.

Thats why you're obsessed with that law. Now say it loud! I'm gay and I'm proud! and don't forget you're in Texas
You want to "see the deeper implications" as an attempt to avoid the plain meaning of the command. This bolsters what I've been saying, that you pick and choose the parts of the Law you want to follow.

Says the guy who can’t be honest about what Leviticus 18:22 commands.
Try to understand, If your god is as obsessed with the sexual preferences of consenting adults then I would rather die than worship such a prick. Is it really any wonder why believing in such a god has turned you into a prick?

If you believe in a cruel God, you will strive to be cruel. If you believe that God is a bigot then you"ll become a bigot. If you believe God is a petty tyrant then you will strive to become a petty tyrant. If you believe that God who is Spirit is not a carnal cruel and capricious petty tyrant you won't become like that. See how that works?

No?

Thats a shame.

So then you don’t believe Leviticus 18:22 is a command from God, right?

Which is a much more honest position than changing what was recorded as a command from God. So why not just say it was men and not God that commanded it?

So then tell me, what exactly did Jesus mean by saying "eat my flesh" if not that the subject of kosher Law where "the flesh" of one creature or another is either clean or unclean, is not about food but teaching?

There is no rational explanation for Jesus saying "Eat my flesh" without finding the deeper implications. You might not realize this but following the WAY that Jesus taught to follow the Law is the only WAY to eternal life.

And there it is, you claim to follow God's Law, but when you disagree with it you claim God is cruel.

When you learn how to read maybe this can be revisited. Until then, purify your own mind and be refined. Or not.

No one can do it for you. Not God, not Jesus, not the angels or saints, not all the eucharists in the world can.

Now you are putting Jesus' utterings on the same level as the Law that you supposedly revere? If you're going to do that, you'd better be prepared to live by what He said, for example, in the Sermon on the Mount, where He elevated the standards of behavior to the heart level from the level prescribed in the Law.

You claimed God is cruel if He prohibits gay sex, I did not.

OK, you have stooped to putting words into my mouth that I didn't say and then arguing with that. Very clever.

I am truly impressed by the wonderful things your religious beliefs and degrading practices have done for you.

This thread certainly has strayed from the topic of why some Christians find it to be against the words of Jesus to revere any man on earth as "father".

This is your quote. I'll leave it here:

"Try to understand, If your god is as obsessed with the sexual preferences of consenting adults then I would rather die than worship such a prick. Is it really any wonder why believing in such a god has turned you into a prick?

God forbids homosexual sex in the Law and you don't like it, so now you are reduced to complaining that God is a prick because He forbids it. You can't simultaneously claim to follow the Law blamelessly and complain about one of the commands in the Law that you don't want to follow.

Now you are putting Jesus' utterings on the same level as the Law that you supposedly revere? If you're going to do that, you'd better be prepared to live by what He said, for example, in the Sermon on the Mount, where He elevated the standards of behavior to the heart level from the level prescribed in the Law.
Ok. So you can't answer the question but instead chose to talk about unrelated shit instead of being honest.

Try again.

"So then tell me, what exactly did Jesus mean by saying "eat my flesh" if not that the subject of kosher Law where "the flesh" of one creature or another is either clean or unclean, is not about food but teaching?"

Tell me how to fulfill the command to eat his flesh without knowing the deeper implications, what he was talking about?

First address your insistence on re-interpreting things you don't like in the Law, then we can change the subject and talk about what Jesus said on that other topic. You claim to follow the Law, deal with your issue about it.

God forbids homosexual sex in the Law and you don't like it, so now you are reduced to complaining that God is a prick because He forbids it.
No, I made the point that your belief about God the supreme being, whatever it is, determines what you become.

What you strive to be.

If you take the Law literally the image and likeness of God becomes that of a cruel and capricious puerile carnal minded petty tyrant. But if you look and look and keep on looking until you find the deeper implications of the Law the image and likeness of God becomes like that of an ever present dedicated benevolent and loving Father.

Thats why Jesus called God "the Father". Apparently "The Father" remains an unknown God. At least to you and the so called Grand Old Party who sold their souls to a devil for a pocket full of empty promises and brazen lies, some cash, and a false sense of power and authority over those despicable libtard freedom loving unbelievers.

That right there is some good old fashioned decent Christian family values in action.

What blindness!

You don’t really believe God has commanded anything, do you?

I think that must be you because that’s not me.

Or you could just be honest and admit you don’t believe God has commanded anything and that these aren’t commands from God but commands from men.

It’s your personal attacks against people of different faiths that reveal your character and insecurities.
