This has never been a problem because we have never had a president with a family owned multinational business empire closely managed by the principal owner. Traditionally, presidents have turned over their financial assets to a trust for management in order to meet legal requirements and to avoid issues of conflict of interest. Trump has said he may turn over the business to his family but then again maybe not. There is no law that prevents him from managing and promoting his business interest while president.
We may just have a Commander in Chief/CEO. He could of course assign his VP with the job of managing the nation while he took care of the business or maybe some job sharing arrangement with Trump taking care of the bully pulpit while Pence takes care of the less important jobs of the president.
