When the Collapse Comes...

Realistic solutions?

You have one nut job prepper talking about sawing off limbs.

You're willing to forego readily available antibiotics in favor of what, roots and leeches?

Keep telling yourself that.

You are still not looking at realistic situations.

The Carrington Event was in 1850 right? Earth was hit by a meteor setting off an ice age too.

Calling it "realistic" to expect that again is pretty much of a farce. Good to know the preppers won't be calling for help though....lol. As far as that goes...

In one breath you say these things happen....in the next you say they never will.
Your like the guy who says cancer happens to other people.

Robert Heinlein:

"Your enemy is never a villain in his own eyes. Keep this in mind; it may offer a way to make him your friend. If not, you can kill him without hate--and quickly.

Peace is an extension of war by political means. Plenty of elbowroom is pleasanter--and much safer."

Bullshit, you damned liar.

What post would that have been, fuckface?

unless they could cut off the infected limb first. That worked a lot of times, hence the monicker for doctors a century or so ago; Old Sawbones.

so your daughter has an infection in her wrist.

Do you saw off at the elbow or at the shoulder.

Or do you go collect some roots for her to chew on.

Or simply bring her to the hospital and ask for some readily available drugs that will treat it?

Your Call pops.

Well.. WinterBorn...?

What call do you make? Are you saying chopping off limbs is a stupid idea?

The hospital is open and functioning? Then obviously this was not the situation I was talking about, now is it?

from: Near Miss: The Solar Superstorm of July 2012 - NASA Science

"In February 2014, physicist Pete Riley of Predictive Science Inc. published a paper in Space Weather entitled "On the probability of occurrence of extreme space weather events." In it, he analyzed records of solar storms going back 50+ years. By extrapolating the frequency of ordinary storms to the extreme, he calculated the odds that a Carrington-class storm would hit Earth in the next ten years.

The answer: 12%."

Scoff all you want. As far as probabilities for disasters, 12% is relatively high.

An 88% it won't happen (let alone with the same ferociousness (sp?)) is very high as welll. Right?

Wow...you're really going out of your way to avoid calling chainsaw boy a dumbass; aren't you? :eusa_clap:

If you have to be this intellectually dishonest, I really doubt you'd let your daughter die to avoid admitting you need outside help.

What are the odds you'll be in a car accident? Probably lower but I bet you still buckle up.

What are the odds you'll win the lottery? Bet you've still bought a ticket.

What are the odds you'll win in a casino? Bet you've still gone.

What were the odds all those people would get shot in a Colorado movie theater? They still went.

What are the odds you're not a schmuck? 0%

When the Collapse Comes...

I'll have bitches in line blowing me for crackerjacks.

Candy'll be there.....after seventy two hours anyway.

The other guy's daughter will be there first after she gets through with chewing on roots or whatever the down-home remedies are (nobody has detailed them)..I'll have plenty of supplies.

Gee grumps...nobody else to bother tonight?

Saw this yesterday:

When the collapse comes, God Willing, I will be ready. And when yhou knock on my door for help , the answer is 'Go **** yourself'

I'm just curious; you preppers out there who insist the world is coming to an end and are arming yourself to wart off the hordes of people coming for you Cocoa Puffs...are you going to tell your neighbor "Go **** yourself" if they knock on your door?

I'm just curious; you liberals out there wouldn't be blaming this potential collapse on anyone named Bush, would you? And wouldn't you be doing the same thing? In times of great need, the focus isn't on others, but on oneself. I highly doubt you would be this generous if in fact our government did collapse, you would in fact do the same thing Bowie would do. But hey, you would always have Bush to fall back on.

Gramps explains some risk analysis to you by way of example, but it bothers you.....

Yes, you are too stupid for words to suffice.

The 12% is simply for the next 10 years. In 2012, a major solar storm was very nearly a huge disaster. If it had happened one week earlier, Earth would have been in its path.

Excuse me?? You have been continually dancing and avoiding admitting even the possibility of a long term collapse, and you have the gall to critique my post?

You have repeatedly ridiculed anyone's statements that what they do will depend on the situation, and yet you know that the situation dictates what we all do.

No, I am not being intellectually dishonest. I have tried, repeatedly, to have an open discussion with you about the realistic situation of a major, long term collapse. You have refused to do so. Not only that, but you use responses from people concerning long term collapse and insert them into your 72 hour scenarios, as if they were interchangeable.

As I have said over, and over and over, my preparations are for the possible long term, major collapse of our society. I am not moving into the boonies for a snow storm or a tornado. In those events I will be working to restore things.

Now, if the hospital is open and functioning, it is not the situation I have been discussing, is it?

and yeah , just from 64 years of life experience I know how much a Doctor and drugs are needed and its not much for a normal healthy person that doesn't do stupid stuff . Also , wasn't much big time , big deal drugs saving lives a hundred years ago . I've asked doctors about the lack of meds and doctoring and they just say that people died . --- just a comment !!

unless they could cut off the infected limb first. That worked a lot of times, hence the monicker for doctors a century or so ago; Old Sawbones.

You want to talk about intellectual dishonesty? The discussion under which someone spoke of amputation and in which I spoke of alternatives to antibiotics, was one which was specifically about a long term collapse.

Tell me, in the event of a long term collapse, how will the hospital be functioning and how will the antibiotics be "readily available"?
