What's missing in the health care debate?

The only fix is better health, not better health care. The government is abysmally ignorant about human health, and the medical/industrial complex is silent on the matter. Even A.I. has to be tortured into revealing the needed knowledge.

And this is significantly different from the point I've made in what way?

Capitalism won't work if the best money is cure ... the kidney specialist who wants to perform exploratory surgery to see if I was healthy enough for surgery ... making people sick for fun and profit ...

Doctors are trying to kill us ...

As a conservative my plan is to take care of my health (liberals are a sickly lot). Seems to be working.

Can change in a second. Lest ye forget. Then its on insurance to pay any and all claims.

I have great insurance, fully paid by my company.

You should embrace wabi-sabi before you develop ulcers fretting about other people's health about which you can do nothing.

It seems like that is what most Americans including the government are doing now. I'm of the opinion that if you can make things better, you should. It should be noted that poor health is a choice that Americans make and is an unnecessary "imperfection" in their thinking only.

I think we all should be engaged in problems that threaten the nation.

US obesity rates have fallen almost 3% in 3 years due to wegoovy, ozempic, and their cohorts. We have 7.5 million fewer fat people. The nation is saved.

My personal health habits shouldn't be a political concern, period. MYOB.

Fine, as long as you pay for your own insurance. The problem is that 40 million others are picking our pockets for theirs.

Yep. And when I ask for more, you can strut around like the Church Lady doing the "superior dance". Until then, myoFb.

There's a catch. Diabetes rates are still increasing. And weight loss due to drugs doesn't change the eating habits of fat people and the resulting illnesses.

My dollar, my business.;)

Lots of ink on health insurance, more on healthcare.
Where does health factor into the discussion.
It doesn’t. It can’t… because the US Federal Government has no legitimate mandate or power to legislate or spend funds on health, insurance or healthcare.

My problem is the complete absence of the subject in any of these discussions. It is like trying help someone stop the pain of hitting themselves in the head with a hammer, giving them Tylenol but not suggesting that they put down the hammer.

These people cannot be reasoned with. Basic logic and common sense are beyond their comprehension.

Or, it's simply a political no-no. I think the last time any politician suggested that the citizenry lend a hand was JFK.

A statistical anomaly due to the lopsided birth rates. The boomers are aging into the age where diabetes usually hit people and they make up a larger share of the population so it will skew the percentages higher.

Whether they suggest it or not, it’s not possible at this point. We’ve raised multiple generations that literally believe the Government is supposed to supply everything they need to them without any investment on their part.
