Why doesn't government promote better health?

RFKjr knows that trying to convince Americans to eat better is fruitless (no pun intended) so he has to nibble around the edges by addressing chemicals in the food. People don't give a shit about their health.
And yet you constantly accuse healthcare workers of not trying hard enough to convince people to eat better….

Healthcare workers aren't all that healthy themselves.
What exactly is it that you want doctors and nurses to do?

One moment yore saying they don’t do enough to encourage healthy habits, the next moment yore saying there’s no point in trying because people don’t listen

Which is it?

I believe it's a little of both. I think doctors gave up on giving health advice long ago. That said I'm not sure they can give the advice that most people need. Color me cynical.

Friend: "I hear yer doctor wants you to improve yer diet."
Patient: "Yeah. He's quit doctorin' and gone to meddlin'."

Why do they believe that the only way to better health is through medical healthcare funded by medical insurance. Why is lifestyle either virtually ignored or barely mentioned. Are Americans so sick that only our doctors can save us? And, if Americans are so ignorant about good health practices where are the health experts that would teach them the way to good health?

You are living in a cage if you think that individual personal behavior modification is the best route to better health nationally.

Because at the root of 90% of disease is genetic corruption or tendencies.

The discussion of permitted chemicals in food and medicine and idiotic misdiagnosis notwithstanding at the moment.

If you ever have the chance to compare YOUR specific genetic code with genetic tendencies for disease....you will find out exactly how much of your health had nothing to do with your supposedly bad habits.

I drink coffee like fish drink water. But I'm genetically capable of drinking even more than my current consumption of a half gallon each day. And I still have issues with taking unscheduled naps. (Another Genetic issue but not narcolepsy)
I know people like my wife who can't do more than a half cup each day....she gets a second cup and she is bouncing off the ceilings and waking me up.

It's genetics....not nutrition.

Now if you want to discuss the current situation of genetic manipulation used to cure disease....which inadvertently creates a dominant genetic heritage....let's talk about that.

It is NOT the Government”s job, nor does the Government have any legitimate power to tell citizens how they should eat, exercise, or otherwise promote their physical or psychological health.,

If you believe otherwise please pint me to the specific item in Arricle I, Secrion 8 of the Constitution that suggests otherwise.

This is the only route to better health nationally.

"If we each do a little, we can all do a lot."

Not that I am into subsidizing the candy and soda industries. And you can't buy cigarettes with EBT.

You guys seem to think that denying these people the ability to enjoy the small comforts in life will spur them to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. And that might could happen, if we eliminate the benefits cliff. But until then, it is pissing in the wind. As to the health results, if they are not living healthy under the status quo they ain't going to live healthy under any changes in the ability to purchase soft drinks and snacks.

They can buy that stuff with their own money, just like the rest of us have to do.

WTF?

People need health knowledge in simple, understandable terms. Not the 'Babylon' of confusion that exists today. It is said that "the devil hides a pint of poison in a lake of truth". The medical writers hide a pint of truth in a lake of poison.

You would need to really suffer and create a completely different lifestyle to make a small change in your health.

After smoking for 40 years....a smoker quits smoking at age 62. Guess how many years he adds to his life?

Just 1

That's it....and that smoker is indeed suffering from withdrawal of all sorts. Routine habits as well as physical withdrawal.

That’s nice but it has absolutely nothing to do with what I said. It is every individual’s right to choose to be as informed or as ignorant on their health as they choose to be.

Health knowledge needs to be instilled at an early age, so if and when one wants to improve their health, they have the knowledge needed.

However....
That does not include the Government's own USDA and Dept of Medicine. They publish guidelines, standards of care, and recommendations which need to be FACT BASED ON REPEATED AND SOLIDLY PROVEN MEDICAL RESEARCH.

rfk jr holds no medical degree and should absolutely not have the position he does

No. They need to be ENDED ALTOGETHER as those Government agencies hold no legitimate Constitutional mandate, power, or funding.

We do need a measure of altruistic endeavors in a neutral manner given back to the world.

Regardless of your opinion on the matter....it's only good business to do so.

I don’t engage in charity or altruistic behavior and I don’t want my tax money used for it either, thank you very much my much.

If you thinking responsibly needs to be added to the Giverbmrbt’s plate, feel free to file an amenities HS Constitution. Until that’s passed and ratified tge document says what it says. Period. Full stop.
