Youre a weirdo. I am not only a Christian but served for most of the decade on the church leadership team, weirdly called an “elder” even though I am not old. I teach Sunday school to 3rd/4th graders.Gator is a Leftist, and as such, does not believe in a God.
He has no real interest in Jesus other than trying to leverage him to get votes for his sociopathic Marxist politicians that care nothing about the poor. All they do is virtue signal.
Just look at the heart of Marxist America, which is California, to see that. They all vote "D" and all you have now is the extreme poor and extreme rich. You exponentially growing numbers of homeless people like Bezos hiding behind gated communities as both the rich and poor in California continue to vote "D" every election cycle
Pathetic.
Everyone else is leaving the state. This is Gators utopia for the country and will no doubt vote for Newsome for President in the near future.
Never forget the mandate by Karl Marx to destroy the middle class.
Democrats have done that by and large.
“Faith without works is dead” - James 2:14-26.As I said and you ignored: He would almost certainly not align with all your political beliefs, nor mine. We are flawed people living in a flawed system. But I'm almost positive you do not believe that He was born, died, rose into Heaven, sits at the right hand of Father, and will return to judge the living and the dead.
You treat Him as if He were a Great Teacher. Those who do this are very prone to reduce Him to a political prop for their chosen politics.
What a shame. So close....but so very, very far
Pretty evident. We just cut taxes for the wealthy and raised them on the working. How so?
Losing 17M from Medicaid? Yup.Medicaid?
It’s not the “system”. It the refusal to regulate the system. Is it the system that’s the problem? What system do you want to use?
Have you looked at the tax tables? It’s a progressive taxation scale. So a married couple making 200k per year will pay a higher percentage and absolute tax than a couple making 50k per year.Pretty evident. We just cut taxes for the wealthy and raised them on the working.
There’s shit tons of regulations. It’s not the “system”. It the refusal to regulate the system.
Tough one. I’ll take good ideas. Generally more centralized funding so that the poorest students are not left behind. Today you get an A+ education if your property taxes are high from wealthy homes. How do you want to do it?
So? It still exists. My wife’s brother was on soonercare. It was excellent. Now he’s on Medicare. His only problem is that he doesn’t use it to the fullest.Losing 17M from Medicaid? Yup.
Subsidiarity which is decentralized is more effective than centralized.Tough one. I’ll take good ideas. Generally more centralized funding so that the poorest students are not left behind. Today you get an A+ education if your property taxes are high from wealthy homes.
I highly doubt that, but whateverYoure a weirdo. I am not only a Christian but served for most of the decade on the church leadership team, weirdly called an “elder” even though I am not old. I teach Sunday school to 3rd/4th graders.
Not sure how you can attack me for being “Godless” and then post that shitpost. You realize homeless people are the needy, not filth, right? I have no issue with people who don’t want to be religious but I do have an issue with hypocrites who claim to be Christian then show the compassion of Satan.
So, how do you demonstrate your faith?“Faith without works is dead” - James 2:14-26.
You can’t crow away about Jesus dying for your sins but ignoring the kind of life he asked of you demonstrates that faith is alive. Without works faith is dead. Your body of works seems flimsy and may have you questioning your faith. I think you just like looking down on others and not the word of God.
This thread is whether or not a self proclaimed follower of Jesus can Biblically support throwing 17M people off Medicaid. The immediate need of some rando you know isnt really on point. So? It still exists. My wife’s brother was on soonercare. It was excellent. Now he’s on Medicare. His only problem is that he doesn’t use it to the fullest.
It is for those with money. For sure.Subsidiarity which is decentralized is more effective than centralized.

So, how do you demonstrate your faith?
And how can you support a political party that rabidly supports abortion on demand?
Or is your church Ok with infanticide?

I just assumed that because you never post in the religious forum, other than to attack Trump, you were just a godless Left wing troll per usual with incurable TDS.
But Ok, I will give you the benefit of the doubt.
As for the homeless, I was just pointing out the failure of the democrat party to address the poverty situation. In fact, they seem to make it worse every year. Why is that do you suppose? Is that Trump's fault as well?
Those of faith give more of their time and money to help the poor, and should because God has called them to do so. Conversely, those on the Left seem to sit round bitching and moaning about people needing to elect democrats into office in order to raise taxes on themselves so that government can then force them to give more of their money to the poor they could give themselves but don't. Then to make matters worse, only about 9 cents on the dollar they are forced to give goes to those in need. In the interim, they try to get out of paying those taxes anyway they can.
You will never convince me that the focus is ever helping the poor when it comes to either party. The only reason they give some of their money to the poor is the same reason Al Capone ran soup kitchens. It gives them legitimacy.
It's like Hillary's charity fund. It was used to launder money around the world, and once she left politics the charity mysteriously shut down altogether. And sure, a few people were helped, which have here legitimacy.
More than half of Democrats are Christian.
Giving is very nuanced and I dont consider giving money to the Church money to charity. I was head of the Finance committee at my Church as a leader and we were always broke because the Pastor was very generous in giving and helping.. .but 85-90% of the gifts run the Church... only 10-15% make it to charitable services. Small churches only give about 5%.
- Non-Christians give 2.0% of their income straight to charities
- Christians give 1.9% of their incomes to charities and 0.6% to their Church to preach the Gospel adding to 2.5%.
- All the giving difference is to preach.. not impacting charitable work.
- The highest givers are Evangelical Christians and most of their money goes to the Church, not charity
The difference in charity in your head isnt really the reality. Again, I am Christian.. I just know Christians are not better people. They are regular people with the same failings and strengths.
