What would it take to secure the Strait?

When I first said Turkey does not border Iran, I had not seen Turkey at the upper left tip of Iran so am saying now it does border Iran. But the area is mountainous. This does not make a good spot to assemble a huge army and invade Iran. And Turkey shows no interest anyway.

I am not saying I am a qualified military expert. But compared to the majority of posters, I believe I am better qualified than most are.

Trump would be crazy to use Turkey if they allowed him to thanks to the mountains that make lousy staging areas.
The entire Iran is encased by mountain ranges and rugged terrain - aside from most of the Afghan border.
If you look into a relief map of Iran you will see that the smallest mountain range is on the Turkish border and then runs almost flat 700 km to Tehran. In today's mobile and air transport oriented warfare - a roughly 30km wide mountain range is no big obstacle.

Furthermore such an operation is build entirely on the "local" support which in North and North-west Iran is absolutely given. So the first target stage would be the major city of Tabriz - 100-120 km form the Turkish border. From Tabriz all major roads and moderate terrain lead to Tehran which is around 600 km from Tabriz.

So all one needs - is the support of the locals (foremost Kurd's) - the same air-strike capability and long range missile capability as presently - a strong contingent of HIMARS-MLRS units and around 25000 - 35000 US combat troops - fitted extensively with Transport Helicopters, Transport aircraft and Gunships as well as around 60-80 A-10s. The backbone of the ground-force are local "freedom-fighters" around 50,000 - 100,000. The Iranian Army will not engage efectivly - and the IRGC can't send more then 30,000 combat troops to engage that operation from Turkey - whilst some 5000-8000 Marines are setting up an extended beachhead around Bandar-Abbas. And 2 armored Brigades as well as 3 mobile infantry brigades in Kuweit head towards Abadan and Ahwas.

However YOUR TACO fucked it up from the beginning - simply because he never held consultations with Russia & China as well as NATO - as to how far he can go in regards to Iran. So if Russia and NATO and to a certain extend China don't agree to this - even that military operation from Turkey to Tabriz might very well end up in disaster for the USA.

And what is TACO going to promise the Kurd's? is the new Tehran regime going to just accept a Kurdish state??

Yes it's a total mystery why Iran would block the straits? :abgg2q.jpg:
Victory at Sea

They blocked it to see if they could get away with it, for future reference. A decadent and collapsing transnationalist ruling class of Dhimmi self-absorbed cowards proved that Iran can do anything it wants to the rest of the world.

Same with attacking the doormat pushover Gulf Arabs, an open gateway to Mecca and control over 2.6 billion Nazislamis.

Was it spite that made you first explain how to invade Iran by a large US Army and then tell me nope, not going to happen? I had said it won't happen and now you agree.

I showed the OP how this can be militarily done - if NATO, Russia and China agree. (independent of Kurdish demands)

And you don't need 300,000 man as YOU suggested - you dolt, but a total of some 100,000-120,000 of which around 40,000 are combat troops, concentrated onto three operational areas.

And now I am telling you for the FOURTH time - that the narcissistic fraudster will NOT allow for such an operation - since he is only interested in short term money games and bullshit headlines to feed his MAGA dolts.

You'd need to destroy Iran.

Not going to happen.

Trump doesn't want a ground war
No More Dumbo Dubya Wars

Our troops have to locate and destroy the missile sights and their Forward Air Control spotters near the beaches of the Gulf shore. No regime change, no confrontation with the Iranian non-missile army, no hope for a civilian uprising. This is not that kind of war.

You did the counting. That is 4 times you have agreed with me. Why resort to being abusive?

Famously it is a sin to not perform the periodic genocide and is against the teachings of the Bible.
Some Genos Need to Be Cided

The Neanderthal didn't die out; they were killed off. Same with homo sapiens replacing previous primates.

The Deluge legend described what happened to the Neanderthal.

I did NOT agree with YOU.

I told the OP from my first post #29 - that TACO will not allow for such an action. Way before YOU came in with your silly argument post # 33 - of no assembly/staging areas available for a "huge" Army. Continuing on YOUR side with Turkey not having a border with Iran.

In both World Wars, GB declared was on Germany because it was a growing economic rival, not because it wanted regime change. France wanted revenge for being humiliated during the Franco-Prussian War.
The Heads of Our HeirHeads Need to Be Shaved Bald

Just like the NepoCons anti-China policy today, and all their pathetic boytoys hear who follow those spoiled-putrid pukes. The HeirHead tards also control our economy and can never compete against a challenge; that's why they have to call it a threat. Same with those who inherited ownership of England's 19th Century economy.

I also said Trump won't invade Iran. Why are you upset?

Rubbish - see your post #39 - your given reason for Trump not to go into military action - was based on your nonsense that it takes 900 km from Kuwait to reach the Iraqi border - and that there are no staging areas to attack Iran.

My reason was: The narcissistic fraudster is only interested in short term money games. And will therefore not allow for a long time military operation.

You seem very offended that we agree.

What would it take to secure the Strait of Hormuz? I'm talking about how to make Iran militarily incapable of threatening ships going through that passage. Do we need to secure all of Iran's coastline and destroy all of its ships? How far inland would we have to go to prevent aerial attacks? Do we have the military capability to do these things?
Put artillery, A-10s, F-22, and missile batteries on the tip of Hormuz.

15th post
Ground war is a non starter, Iran is almost four times larger than Iraq, the US would need more than half a million troops then it would still end in disaster, but then again if history is anything to go by the morons don't seem to learn, at the moment Israel is a bigger problem than the US war against Iran, if the Zionists are not stopped by force there will be another holocaust to rival the Nazi holocaust, it's already starting to look like that.
Actually, to keep peace and control more or less understanding population, one needs no less than one soldier per fifty civilians, which gives us about two million of US soldiers to be garrisoned there even in the case of US victory. Plus larger number of teachers and Kulturträgers.
And even before start doing it, invader should defeat multimillion strong and well motivated Army, backed by, at least, Russia and China.

And now tell us what if Russia and China don't agree. And they don't agree. What if neither NATO, nor Kurds agree, too?

Question one: how are you going to defend them from Iranian attack (enhanced with, say, Russian Su-57s)? How are you going to supply them?
