The only ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz are Iran's "Shadow Fleet".

How exactly would Iran get a nuke over the continental US?
A ballistic missile carrying it to maybe 40-50 mile altitude.
Missile and related launch gear and controls concealed in containers riding on an "innocent" cargo ship(s) just off shore of USA.
One method.
One each per Atlantic and Pacific could fugg things up a bit.

Idiot.

So tell me what I'm missing. If the only ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz are Iran's shadow fleet, then why aren't we targeting them? We have precision strike missiles that can disable the rudder/propellers without sinking or destroying the tanker. It seems we should be doing that.
Does anyone on this board know what is happening?
1. Are oil tankers actually passing through the Strait?
2. How does Iran tell friend from foe?
3. Where are the missiles/drones coming from?
4. Who is giving them targeting instructions?
5. Can the US Navy selectively embargo these ships?

More mirror gazing projection I see.

Do have any idea that size missile and warhead to achieve anything like that? No, you dont. Your Google fu is weak.

Yes I do (clues are in the articles linked ;))
(Do you? If so present such then.)
Your CYA and deflection is even weaker.

In the case of the "container on ship launch", you aren't needing an ICBM. A short range IRBM is more than enough if one is 50-300 miles offshore, say, and only needing to reach 50-100 mile elevation for optimal blast range/umbrella for EMP effect.

Improved designs in compacting warheads would suggest that several hundred pounds, give or take (based upon size blast desired and range of effective coverage) is doable.

Try reading those links before flaying off in ignorance, again.

[BTW, between your user name and avatar your credibility is suspect, as well as your poser character.]

So in your infinite wisdom, the Iranians who do not have a weapon, have never tested a weapon, can develop and fit it and use it on an untested missile capable for carrying it to a distance and altitude sufficient to create an effective EMP without every having any experience with it?

We can't even get the Artemis spacecraft that cost a couple of billions dollars off the ******* launch pad after years and years of preparation! Elon Mush can't even get his Starship into orbit?

Why do you think this is so ******* easy?

Why haven't the North Koreans done so since they have had nukes for years?

It's because God didn't give you the sense to pour piss out of your boot with instructions on the heel!

Good God, you are dumb!

Not my "infinite wisdom" but the finite knowledge and wisdom of others more informed than me (and you it seems) which I have re-presented here for consideration of everyone.

Seems you have "infinite wisdom" in excess of that of the combined intelligence agencies of the USA and West. Or so you are claiming.

See the articles/links I presented, versus the NONE that you present.

BTW, EMP effect first noticed in earlier tests of original weapons and since has been documented as to how/why it occurs and how to focus bomb construction to increase or decease effect.

Meanwhile all you present are bloviation and rhetoric, along with hubris and displays of your ignorance, while making claims you fail to document or back up.

I don't think it "is so easy", but appears others more expert than I, and especially you, think it is "Do able".

North Koreans reportedly have nukes, I've not seen clear details on the size and capabilities of those supposed nukes, so that might be a factor. The other might be the leadership of NK is slightly more rational than Iranian theocracy. For one thing Marxist/communism doesn't preach a religion/theology of an afterlife Paradise for believers who are martyrs and warriors to achieve, hence the willingness for Islamo Fascist to also run the edge of kamikaze.

That aside, I'm not an NK, nor part of their apparata, so won't claim to know why they do or don't anything.

FWIW, I think you 'stole' the boot full of piss metaphor from my prior use of such. No surprise since you've nary an original thought as it is.

Gawd you're not very bright.

You must be talking to yourself since you admitted you could not dispute a single thing I said, because you don't know. I do!

You might want to look at Operation Starfish concerning EMP. BTW, look at the date on the tests. Hardly early and definitely not an "original" weapon.

What some of you ignoramuses don't understand is how the yield of a weapon is influenced by design and core materials. Why do you think we used plutonium and later hydrogen to improve yields and reliability? Do you think Iran is remotely capable of doing that, since neither North Korea, India, nor Pakistan has yet demonstrated that capability?

They don't even have a ******* bomb yet!

Your links are bogus BS made for conspiracy theorists and undereducated morons like you and your ilk.

A nuclear electromagnetic pulse (nuclear EMP or NEMP) is a burst of electromagnetic radiation created by a nuclear explosion. The resulting rapidly varying electric and magnetic fields may couple with electrical and electronic systems to produce damaging current and voltage surges. The specific characteristics of a particular nuclear EMP event vary according to a number of factors, the most important of which is the altitude of the detonation.
...
The fact that an electromagnetic pulse is produced by a nuclear explosion was known in the earliest days of nuclear weapons testing. The magnitude of the EMP and the significance of its effects were not immediately realized.

During the first United States nuclear test on 16 July 1945, electronic equipment was shielded because Enrico Fermi expected the electromagnetic pulse. The official technical history for that first nuclear test states, "All signal lines were completely shielded, in many cases doubly shielded. In spite of this many records were lost because of spurious pickup at the time of the explosion that paralyzed the recording equipment." During British nuclear testing in 1952–53, instrumentation failures were attributed to "radioflash", which was their term for EMP.

So, did you learn anything? I see you did not do as I suggested. I knew all of that but you did not.

Another tanker was hit overnight.
A tanker was also struck while at anchor by an unknown projectile about 23 nautical miles east of the UAE’s Fujairah in the Gulf of Oman, according to an update published Monday from the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) center.
I guess you didn't read "at anchor". It was not in the strait and not even underway.

Which is why I said, "If you think it's bad now, imagine a nuclear Iran closing the Strait to other countries' shipping."

We're back where we started.
What about nuclear Israel? Or nuclear Britain, or nuclear China or Pakistan?
