According to the late J. Rufus Fears, a noted history professor, the four qualities that a true statesman must possess are:
1. A bedrock of principles
2. A moral compass
3. A vision
4. The ability to build a consensus to achieve that vision
All four qualities must be possessed, not just two or three.
Churchill, Thatcher, Reagan, and Texan Sam Rayburn had those four qualities.
Trump has the first three qualities. He's gotta work on the fourth. But to become a statesman, he must first get elected.
The other choice is a politician who lacks a bedrock of principles. She has a moral compass but it is broken. She has a vision but it is one that is destructive to America. And she does not have the ability to build a consensus.
She is not a statesman. She is a politician in the most base manner.
