Moving forward, are students and families not to worry about high costs of college because the taxpayer is going to pick up the tab?

What happened when the mortgage crisis hit? The government stepped in BUT new controls and restrictions were put into place to keep people from getting loans they could not pay back.

Same thing needs to happen for college loans.
