Instead of arguing about labels, how about acknowledging historical events that contributed to the rise of Nazism after WW1? Hitler blamed Jews and Communists for the political chaos that erupted in Germany after the shameful Treaty of Versailles. He sought to unify what was left of Germany into a classless society of agricultural and industrial workers by providing social benefits that were unheard of in the rest of Europe. The worldwide Depression of the 1930s hit Germany harder than most other European countries, and he instituted huge public works programs to combat unemployment. He also supported private economic growth by government backing of corporate debts.

Hitler's foreign policy objectives were to restore former German territories and to remove the threat (as he saw it) from Jews and Communists in Europe. This required the elimination of Poland as a buffer state between Germany and its mortal enemy, Soviet Russia. His original plan was to relocate these people in order to make more room for Germans in Eastern Europe. This plan took a much darker turn when he failed to defeat Britain or Russia in 1940 and a different "final solution" was implemented.

As a result of these events, the Nazi regime became more and more authoritarian. Interestingly, however, Germany was the last of the major WW2 combatants to impose a full war economy on its citizens (1943). This suggests that this regime was not always as totalitarian as some people believe.

I have been looking into these sorts of topics for many years. Much of the "history" you repeat is BS "history" written by and enforced by the victors. In other words, BS propaganda. Skewed history at best. First of all, it was both political and cultural chaos that followed the indeed shameful Treaty of Versailles. For which jews were to blame. Next, a socialist society doesn't mean a classless society. In that, you are thinking more of communism. But even under communism, the work that the government finds to be most important is the kind that requires brainpower. Maybe I am wrong in this, but it seems to me that those doing the difficult work in terms of brainpower would receive a little more in the realm of material goods than the average citizen. Otherwise, what's the point in even going through such effort.

Next, you are right about the public works programs to combat unemployment. But no doubt he also did so by opening factories. Next, you are wrong about him backing corporate debt. It was the government itself that assumed any debt. He did that by sidestepping the basically worthless Reichsmark and instituting a fiat currency backed by what were called MEFO Bills.

Next, Hitler probably did want to restore the former German territories. But that didn't require the elimination of Poland. Poland existed before WWI and there is no reason why it shouldn't have gone back to being what it was. And his whole reason for attacking Poland had nothing to do with the Russians. After WWI, many Germans found themselves living in Poland. The Poles were never known to treat those who they viewed as foreigners kindly. For various reasons, ethnic Germans were being murdered in Poland. Hitler invaded to put a stop to it.

Next, Germany did indeed fail to invade England. But without U.S. support, they probably would have. As for Russia, conflict didn't begin between Germany and Russia until Germany went up against Russian forces in Operation Barbarossa. But even then, Hitler's reason for doing so was because he found out that the Russians were getting ready to attack the Germans. So he decided to attack first. Which really caught the Russians with their pants down. Interestingly, I have found much of the proof of this to have been scrubbed from the internet. But as it is, here is how the forces between Russia and Germany stacked up at the time.

As for your "darker turn," I take you are speaking of the holocaust. It never happened! Neither were there any "gas chambers." Things did go bad for jews and others in the internment camps. ("Death camps") But that came from the allies bombing the living shit out of the German infrastructure that supported those camps. Too bad I can't go more into that topic here. But given who actually owns your ass, that's no surprise.

Oh, I wrote it all right. And I held those kinds of views for decades. As I said elsewhere, there is nothing like being homeless to clarify your thinking. This is what it was like for me for a while. Digging a hole to take a shit in. And sleeping in a pup tent. There's an interesting point on that. When it is cooler outside, your body gives off moisture that condenses on the inside of the tent. When it is raining outside, the raindrops hit the tent and causes the condensation on the inside to fly off in tiny little droplets. Enough to be really annoying. Though at least for me, it wasn't winter. There was a guy in my town who the city hired to paint various kinds of murals around town. Mainly, things depicting historical events. He ended up freezing to death. And all that for what. So some republican governor can pretend that he is saving taxpayer money in the richest country in the world? What you say is complete nonsense. For example, government is run from the bottom down. Because those who get elected are corrupt from the get go. In my view, those who are corrupt are at the bottom of morality and humanity in general. Next, as I said elsewhere, the bottom 50% of Americans have around 4 trillion in wealth. The top 50% have around 156 trillion in wealth. That wouldn't be the case if "when your boss gets wealthy that's good for you." As for why people from other nations come here, socialism has nothing to do with it. Overpopulation has everything to do with it. Also, as I also said elsewhere, those countries that are socialist wouldn't have become socialist to begin with if capitalism was working out for them.

(And for VERY good reasons) Under Hitler and the National Socialists, the German economy went from ruined to the greatest economy in the world! Also, the only to defeat the Chinese communists is with a socialist system. But the capitalists cringe at the thought. Why? Because there is no way a for profit company could compete with a government run company. For one reason, profit would be taken out of the equation. Also, we could make anything the Chinese make for less than they can. Because our country is rich in natural resources. As long as the government can provide the necessities that are needed to live, such as housing, food and clothing, things can be made for a very cheap price. But here is a cartoon from 1897 that shows the problem when it comes to, for example, housing. (How things haven't changed)

Though he was an asshole, Muammar Gaddafi took a socialist approach when it came to housing. He required by law that every citizen had a place to live. He also made it illegal to own more than one house. Another point is that here in the U.S., the working poor on average spend around 55% of their income on rent. To that add the cost of food, clothing, utilities, insurance, etc., that doesn't leave people with much else. Also each year around 500,000 families go bankrupt due to medical expenses. It's all a pile of shit that only socialism can lift us out of. You should also consider what these two people had to say.]

I disagree. Socialism tends to be more democratic. Communism tends to be more authoritarian. As it was in communist Russia and still is in communist China. Watch the Michael Moore documentary "Where to invade next." He visits various countries in Europe that are WAY more socialist than the U.S. He also speaks to many if the citizens. They are dismayed as to how the U.S. stacks up against them.
