A third party should reject only courses of action that benefit narrow interests or are based on ideological wishful thinking. If something works then do that and tell the capitalist/socialist knee jerks to leave their philosophy outside the doors of congress. So far the most stable economies are those who use a mix and do not get bogged down with extremists who will tell you that their narrow way is the road to awesomeness.
