USMB Coffee Shop IV

So, how's everyone this evening? I overdid the reading yesterday, but I'm not quitting. I'm 10 chapters into the book of Matthew.

It's almost as if mama knew she'd be giving this Bible to me, she marked a lot of verses that are helping me with my grief.

However, since burnout is a risk, I do need to slow down.

I'm going to say a special prayer for Fox tonight.

Huh...

Wha..What...

What century is it? So very drowsy.

Anyway, I got 10 more chapters in the Bible today. God can make a lot out of something impossibly insignificant.

All you need is the faith of a mustard seed, and you will move mountains.

So many great posters have passed.
o
I miss them as well as what this board once was....i can barely tolerate it now.... and its dumbed down status......it had a great run though

Bottom line.....a great political board must have good mods.....not just someone who attempts to dutifily follow the rules.

As a Great General once said.....you are remembered for the rules you break...or sumptin like dat. hehheh

Good evening. I'm finding reading and studying the Bible to be quite refreshing.

Along with my gaming sessions interspersed between...

I hope you are all doing well.

But it is time for supper. I'll check back again in a little while.

Well I was in fear of losing the house in probate but my father saved it, I don't know how with all the debt we owed before she passed. However we need money and we're both disabled right now.

I wish we knew where to get the money for repairs and continuing the mortgage. The sum grandma left me won't cover it all. He's not telling me much, but he suggested that if we can't do those things he may have to sell it. We can't...I was raised there.

Some suggestions or I daresay some help would be appreciated.

Prayers too..I'm genuinely worried.

Sorry for airing my personal business on here, but me and my father don't want to be renting for the rest of our lives...

In other news I finished off the book of Mark.

Mark is simply another telling of the works and miracles of Christ. Like healing the sight of Bartimaeus, or of the poor woman in the Synagogue who gave a farthing among the rich who gave much, with Jesus commenting that she gave more than all the rich in their abundance.

It might be repetitive but it is going into further detail.

On to the Book of Luke.

Have you read your Bible today?

The only thing I can suggest, particularly without knowing you and your situation personally, is to try something like a GoFundMe. I don't know why some of those are effective while others are not, but some people have certainly gotten financial relief through those sorts of crowd-funding services.

Weather man predicted 20" of snow last night, only got about 5 or 6 thankfully. Most of it will be gone by Friday as the temps will be in the 40's by midweek

Well Dad got control of my childhood home despite never having lived there himself, and is planning to sell it and the car to our longtime next door neighbor. I'm going to lose a shed that I paid for for my grandmother as a Christmas gift.

I'm praying someone, somewhere will see this and step in and save it all. All the the house needs is repairs. My heart has been shattered into a million pieces.

I lived there 29 years sharing love and memories with her. And now I'm being torn away from it.

Crying helps, but it doesn't solve the problem.

Snow we just got is melting fast by the w/e it should be all gone. The animals are starting to move around.. Saw a herd of deer at GMills world HQ, bout the same amount of turkies at a furniture whse and a Bald Eagle circling our house. Take care Foxy

Now strictly speaking as a moderator:

This thread will remain open indefinitely, to honor Foxfyre.

To anyone new here, Foxfyre spent almost 20 years on this forum being a kind and optimistic presence, almost like a mother figure to some of us. As Ringel said, her husband let him and ergo, the rest of us, know she passed on March 5th.

I encourage the reader to go back through this thread and read her posts. Get a sense of who she was here, and do your level best to conduct yourself in that spirit.

May God rest her soul.

As you were, carry on.

This Templar knight will stand on station.
So sad to hear. I came here for some Foxfyre light. Truly a loss, she was a sweet soul that will be missed.

We live in a neighborhood that has association rules. The city does not plow our streets the Assoc does, which up until now has been top notch. Well the snow has melted and they gouged out a huge section of our grass while plowing despite the fact I always run shovel down its length so they know where the curb is. Foot deep and almost 2' over the curb. Called and complained and the mgr tried to fob it off as no big deal....told em I ain't fixing your screw up.....see what happens. We walked the entire complex......not another lawn was mangled ......
