Think I put the last mow on the yard for the yr. Think Old Man winter is going to arrive early this yr. Already down to thirties at night.

Still running a moderate "Indian summer" here but that's not all that unusual for us. The International Balloon Fiesta (always early in October) has been snowed out in years past but it is not unusual for us to be well into November before we get a hard freeze. Snow on Thanksgiving isn't all that unusual though.

We're finally getting a little bit cooler here. Highs are supposed to be only 81 today, 80 tomorrow. I was in St. Augustine this weekend for our honeymoon and it got up to 88, I think, and that part of FL is usually a little cooler than here at home. It might be a side effect of weather being pushed by Hurricane Melissa.

Thank you my Lumpkin. We are doing as well as we can at our age. The fact is, I think all of us probably are enjoying blessings in our lives and there are also things that suck.

I am really grateful that everything doesn't suck. LOL

Yes, although I have not yet read anything about any deaths, so hopefully they were able to evacuate well enough to avoid that.

My mom was four years older than my dad. Hombre's mom was three years older than his dad. The women still outlived the men by more than a decade. All good reason to believe age is just a number.

My Mother in Law is passing. Got the call from the wife about 1pm. Knocked off and went down to sit with her for 1.5 hrs and then had to go to my own appt. She's hanging on somehow even after life support was pulled at 1:30.Her parents were nothing but good to me and they will be sorely missed.
She got to see 1 great grandkid, something I wont see, by the time she gets to that age I'll be long gone.

Just got back from hospital....still hanging in......Wife is still there. Had to come home and tend the pets
