Our Democracy is a Constitutional Republic where the government derives it's power from the people, who elect their representatives in Democratic elections. That's what made us a liberal democracy when the constitution was written. A break from the Royal Families of Europe who ruled in various illiberal fashions. The two party system has served us reasonably well when both parties agree to work together through dialog finding common ground and negotiating compromised to put together solution. A house divided will not serve any one but our enemies.

Overall, I liked Ronald Reagan as President, even with the high inflation and slow civilian job market. Although, I could have done without the "Godless Russian" rhetoric, while I was freezing my ass off, sitting in a tank.
