Trump Says He Can't Guarantee Americans Won't Pay More as a Result of Tariffs

Its your side that’s begging to be educated about what a trade deficit is
I don't have a side and I know exactly what it is which is why I can explain it:
A trade deficit occurs when a country imports more goods and services than it exports. It can also refer to the balance of trade in goods, the balance of trade in goods and services, or the balance on the current account.

Inflation is when the dollar is devalued

Tariff, like any other tax, adds to the cost of production, it doesn’t devalue the dollar

Tariffs however unlike raising corp taxe across the board (which was the dem plan), trump wants to cut them, only impact certain goods and can certainly be lowered by manufacturing them or getting parts somewhere not impacted by the tariff
Tariffs on foreign goods Americans need and want might be effective if America had the ability to produce these goods at home. We don’t anymore thanks to greedy capitalists and corrupt politicians who outsourced our manufacturing sector.

It took four years for prices to come down, and they're still not where they were in 2019.

That's a pathetic performance by any way you measure it.
They are still not where they were in 1977 either.

The billionaires are the result of globalism for profit.

Trump prefers a weak dollar

If you have to ask then its a waste of time trying to educate you
I'm asking because you don't appear to know. Do you have a trade deficit with Walmart and your local grocery store?

It has in food prices..I know yous guys can't evaluate a damn thing unless Trump tells you what to say.

More recently, some areas of the US economy have experienced deflation, including:
  • Durable goods: Used cars, furniture, and appliances have been dropping in price for five months in a row

  • Gasoline: Has deflated over the past year

    • Groceries: Prices for items like cereal, rice, bread, ham, fish, cheese, ice cream, potatoes, apples, bananas, margarine, and snacks have fallen
/——-/ Guess again, Spanky.

What do you mean you don't "have a side"? Now you're going to lie to everyone as if you didn't vote for Biden/Harris and defend everything they've done for the last three years?

Gawd, you are such a shitweasel, dude. :laughing0301:

Why would I vote for officers who ran the Drug War? I am an illegal drug user, salesman, and smuggler...For the last forty-three years...
I am sure you wish you had stayed true to yer rebel ways

indeed, yet these well trained sheep can't see that...
/——/ Yet you can’t articulate why that would be a bad thing. You prefer broke ass people be in charge? You know, the type that has three maxed out credit cards at 27% interest and under water on a $120,000 pick up truck.
Billionaires are rich for a reason. They can manage money.

One of the main reasons Trump was elected was due to the inflation experienced over the past four years. Trump repeatedly hammered the Biden Administration over the cost of groceries. Now, with the rate of inflation down under 3%, he's admitting his tariffs might raise prices back up.

The funny thing is, if those prices were to go up as the result of higher corporate taxes, the usual suspects now slamming the politician instead of the CEOs for passing the costs on to the consumer would instantly praise the politician and blame the CEOs for the higher prices. Isn't that interesting?

well it's about bringing that jobs back, like Trump did last time

Except those taxes aren't just for the sake of themselves, progressive policy would use those taxes to provide services and assistance to poor and working class families. Trump and his billionaire friends are just grifting on their own behalf.

/—-/ It’s the frustrating thing about libs. They flip
positions on a topic to suit their agenda of the day.
Case in point, libs have historically been against artificial ingredients in processed foods. This is an area of concern RFK Jr wants to remedy. But, because he allied with Trump, suddenly he’s called crazy by the Left.

The debt is supposedly number one, why do we have such a large debt if wealthy people are controlling our government? or are they really poor people?

An inferior human is an inferior human, whether they be rich or poor.

Let's see evidence of any lib advocating for more processed food.
