Trump Says He Can't Guarantee Americans Won't Pay More as a Result of Tariffs

One of the main reasons Trump was elected was due to the inflation experienced over the past four years. Trump repeatedly hammered the Biden Administration over the cost of groceries. Now, with the rate of inflation down under 3%, he's admitting his tariffs might raise prices back up.

So….just like what they do in Europe.

Price increases due to tariffs will be counter-balanced by a reduction in energy costs, assuming Trump reverses demmunist energy-stifling restrictions.
Ultimately, American-made goods will be able to compete with Chinese slave labor goods and the resulting increase in US manufacturing will expand domestic capital.
As long as demmunists are not elected back into America-destroying leverage again.

The mindless Trumpsters know they'll just blame the Dems for anything bad that happens during Trump's term, so the thought that Jesus 2.0 is not perfect is not even an intellectual option for them. Somehow they haven't thought through what some of his agenda will actually do to them and their loved ones.

The others who voted for Trump may have to learn the hard way to start paying attention to how they make voting decisions.

There's no way to know what's going to happen, but if it goes south, it will be our own fault.

Back up? Did prices go down?
Stopping the high inflation rate doesn't make prices go down or back to where they once were, it simply slows or stops prices from continuing to rise at the same fast inflationary rate....so that the increase in worker pay, rises at a faster rate than the inflation rate, so that the 'pain' from the rise, doesn't hurt so much.....

Tariffs aren’t inflation

Yep.

Inflation has fed on itself to a point at which businesses had to keep up by paying their employees more. That higher cost of doing business works itself all the way down the supply chain, it expands all the way down like dominoes, and cannot be reversed.

A lot of people clearly don't understand this basic fact of economics because Americans are bad at details and intellectually lazy. Anyone who voted for Trump because they think he can wave his magic wand and send prices back to where they were are fools.

Tariffs on chinese goods are absolutely the right thing to do

And possibly canada and mexico if they are transshipping chinese goods to avoid the tariff
US tariffs on China will only harm long suffering working class Americans. China won’t be harmed at all.

Tariffs aren’t inflation

Prices will magically fall to meet demand, and the slave factories will still make lots of money. The markups are huge on many items. The chain stores will up prices for a while as a scam, and clean out the idiots who have no self-control, and in a few months prices will go back to their previous levels or lots of stuff will end up in clearance isles at heavy discounts.

The price of eggs will likely bottom out at some point in the next 2-4 years. We will no longer mandate flu vaccines. The vaccines, which are made from Eggs, will no longer be taken off the market so, as a result, the supply for the consumer will be high and the price will be low. Of course the deaths from preventable influenza is another matter. Not that the schools are going to be worth a shit under a wrestling promoter's leadership but entire classrooms are going to be infected.

I don’t think anyone voted for trump because he thought he could undo the damage already done by demfascist policies that caused damage already done by inflation

The china trade deficit with America is huge

Losing even a percentage of that income would hurt them

Why don't one of you frail whites explain to me what you think a trade deficit actually is.....

No might to it, they will increase the prices of products.

He is responsible for the inflation of terlit paper prices.

You sure as hell never complained about the price of everything going up under Biden, so why start now?
I have not complained about something that has not happened, that is correct... You, however, never bitched when Trump destroyed the economy and shut us down in 2020, you simply tried to blame everyone but Trump.
