Trump Says He Can't Guarantee Americans Won't Pay More as a Result of Tariffs

I have not complained about something that has not happened.

Now you're going to gaslight everyone and say you don't remember the 9.1% inflation rate, $7-8 dollar gas prices, supply-line disruptions, shortages on the store shelves and massive increases in the price of everything under Biden/Harris?

Get real. Do you folks live in some kind of alternate reality or something?

Tariffs are a tax not inflation
Tariffs CAUSE prices of goods to rise in price, when selling to the whole seller, then again when the whole seller, sells to the retailer, then the retailer raises his retail price on consumers to pay for it.

Gasoline never got to 7-8 dollars a gallon here; you must live in Europe.

Gas used to be forty cents a gallon when I started driving is Biden the reason for the increase since 1977?

Trump is breaking campaign promises before he enters office, talk about a two-faced liar who will tell you yer kids are pretty enough to get elected.

Trump promises to make prices plunge again. That’s a dangerous proposal

The national average spiked at $5.032 per gallon under Biden/Harris, but people in California were paying $7-8 dollars per gallon. So get the fuck out here with your gaslighting. It doesn't matter what Trump does, prices will never be as high as they were under Biden/Harris.

One of the main reasons Trump was elected was due to the inflation experienced over the past four years. Trump repeatedly hammered the Biden Administration over the cost of groceries. Now, with the rate of inflation down under 3%, he's admitting his tariffs might raise prices back up.

/—-/ Joe kept Trump’s tariffs and added two more, and yet you azzholes swear inflation went down.

You claimed it was seven to eight dollars that I was supposed to remember.. Gas always spikes after a Republican swamp ruins the economy.

It has in food prices..I know yous guys can't evaluate a damn thing unless Trump tells you what to say.

More recently, some areas of the US economy have experienced deflation, including:
  • Durable goods: Used cars, furniture, and appliances have been dropping in price for five months in a row

  • Gasoline: Has deflated over the past year

    • Groceries: Prices for items like cereal, rice, bread, ham, fish, cheese, ice cream, potatoes, apples, bananas, margarine, and snacks have fallen

Yo dude pay attention

Three Countries produce Widget A

China, Thailand and Cambodia

If President Trump levies a tariff on China's ONLY China's Widgets will go up in cost

Capisce?
Wrong, and proof you don't have a clue about supply & demand.

It took four years for prices to come down, and they're still not where they were in 2019.

That's a pathetic performance by any way you measure it.

Inflation is when the dollar is devalued

Tariff, like any other tax, adds to the cost of production, it doesn’t devalue the dollar

Tariffs however unlike raising corp taxe across the board (which was the dem plan), trump wants to cut them, only impact certain goods and can certainly be lowered by manufacturing them or getting parts somewhere not impacted by the tariff
