The RNC, which has made broadening its base a priority, just lost its head of black outreach.

The Republican National Committee is losing the person who leads the GOP’s outreach to black communities, as first reported by NBC News and confirmed by The Huffington Post.

Kristal Quarker-Hartsfield, the national director of African-American Initiatives at the RNC, is leaving the organization to work for Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) as his director of intergovernmental affairs. Her last day is set to be Friday, and she is the second black top staffer to depart the RNC this month.

Quarker-Hartsfield and the RNC did not return repeated requests for comment on her reasons for leaving.

Quarker-Hartsfield joins several other staffers of color who have departed the RNC recently. Orlando Watson, communications director for black media, left earlier this month. Tara Wall and Raffi Williams, son of Fox News political analyst Juan Williams, both left their press positions at the RNC late last year.

RNC Chair Reince Priebus has said that expanding the party and reaching out to groups of people who don’t usually vote Republican are priorities. After the 2012 elections, he famously released an autopsy report concluding that the GOP needed to broaden its base if it wanted to survive a changing country.

Well, this isn't a good sign for the RNC trying to broaden its base. Not surprising...

From the OP:

A recent USA Today poll showed that if Trump faces off against Democrat Hillary Clinton in November, voters of color would overwhelmingly reject the business mogul. Black voters were the most pronounced, backing Clinton 67 percent of the time.

So the first one left one Republican job for another Republican job. What about the others?

People leaving their jobs for other jobs is now news?

be honest, does that move aound like smart career progression to you?

The GOP has made broadening its bas a top priority? In what Universe? The only priority they have, as they made clear, is holding onto their power.

When the TEA Party's power was at it's peak and they threatened the WE-GOP leadership just as much as they did anyone for acting like liberals (refusing to listen to and represent the people) O'Connell walked out on a stage carrying a rifle and proceeded to declare there was no room under the WE-GOP's huge umbrella for 'those' Conservatives.

Since then they have made it all but perfectly clear that there is only room enough under their golf umbrella for anyone willing to shut up, hold their nose, and vote for and support whatever the WE-GOP leadership wants.

In doing so they unintentionally created the insurgency that is threatening their rule. In retaliation the WE-GOP leadership has declared war on their base, openly plotting on how to steal the nomination - circumventing the will of the people - at the contested conventions they intend to force to happen. They do not care that in doing so they will completely destroy the Republican party, as they are underestimating their base's frustration and outrage.

Liberals are trying to screw their people through the use of superdelegates, that include such people as the 72yo Pro-Hillary ex-disbarred lawyer facing 130 years in jail yet gets to keep and use his superdelegate vote. The WE-GOP is not trying to keep their efforts as quiet - they are trying to force a very public contested convention where they plan to screw their base in a very public fashion.

Career politicians on both sides have no use or concern for their bases' wishes - only their own ability to hold on o power.

I have no idea, I don't know how good each job actually is.

This isn't news, It's fluff.

No shit...if Trump is elected jobs will be available and the people of color...including red people...will have to go to work.

In your world, unless the GOP is advocating for more freebies to blacks, they're not reaching out.

So much for the RNC minority outreach program. What a joke!

To be honest, if the right wing attitude toward blacks is an indication of the effectiveness of their black outreach program, they should have fired him a long time ago.
