This is why nobody feels bad about that schmuck who got popped in NYC and many people are even cheering about it.

I think I like this new populist directions Americans are taking, finally.

Since money is fungible...how do you eliminate the doubling of food & gas prices from the equation, to solely blame their BK on medical bills?

Man, don't get me started on some of the people I see boo-hooing over some Big Pharma executive. Living in Europe, I'll say this. It's a pretty good system in that if you have a serious life threatening emergency, you'll be taken care of, and you don't have to choose between dying and going broke. HOWEVER, most people I know, and most situations I've heard of involving smaller things, people will go private. That said, even if you go private it's cheaper. Guy I knew got dental work done last week for the equivalent of $110. $110 is something. But it's peanuts compared to what you'd pay for the same thing in the US.

Nobody's stopping you from moving to any of those countries.

Need some cardboard boxes to put your stuff in?

I have to grudgingly agree (with the thought, not the action).

Well, thank God that Obamacare took care of that, right? Now health care is affordable...
Obamacare didn't go far enough, that's why Americans are so mad they're now shooting Healthcare insurance CEO's in broad daylight and most Americans are happy about it.

What point were you trying to make and what direction do you want US healthcare to go?

I just spent $39K out of pocket for dental implants.

That dated US numbers are based on the number of people who declare bankruptcy who have medical debt, not the number of people forced to do it because of medical debt. Bankruptcy filings are not nearly as high as they were around Great Recession times.
