This is why there’s been so much extreme rainfall and flooding in the U.S.

Reality is confusing for you, isn't it?

While there are varying meteorological forces behind this month’s extreme rainfall, what has connected them all is significant amounts of atmospheric moisture pulsing above the country.

It is flowing from abnormally warm oceans across the Northern Hemisphere that are likely to stretch elevated flood risks into August, data shows — perhaps into record territory. The conditions are allowing plumes of tropical moisture to stretch into middle latitudes and stagnate there, sending flood risks surging and exemplifying a critical consequence of rising global temperatures that researchers have been predicting and tracking for decades.

Scientist have been warning for decades about climate change. As oceans warm, the added moisture in the atmosphere will lead to more super storms. The repub party has called it lies and propped up their "experts" to refute the science. We can expect to see extreme weather episodes going forward and that will lead to more loss of life and property. Insurance rates are already skyrocketing in parts of the country where these weather extremes are prevalent. We may be too late to change course.
Poor jimboliar, now taking on the Chicken Little mantra from his kookbot manual....since none of the other libberbabble is taking hold.

Repubs are selling the future of our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren for their political gain. Then they will blame someone else, like trump does on a daily basis.
Come on jimboliar....cut and pasting from facediaper's posts now???

Nope, the wealthy will be able to move to a safer climate. YOU will not. Your children and grandchildren will be the ones to suffer. Not to worry, they will blame the Dems for not being more forceful in their warnings.
Auntie Em, Auntie Em!!!

This is the reality that is being ignored, long tern trend is a, much better measure.

"LOL, another warmest/alarmist bogus narrative that goes on and on over periodic weather events, it wasn't long ago the same warmest/alarmists moaned and groaned over droughts that unsurprisingly went away, there have been periods of floods and periods of droughts going back into the distant past.

There is NO climate change happening in the discussed regions it is just weather!"

Post one is all propaganda.

LOL!!!

from Google....

A significant study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences linked a severe drought in Syria, exacerbated by climate change, to the Syrian civil war

Didn't the NYT blame the Syrian civil war on "Global Warming causing a drought?"

Doesn't CO2 FRAUD blame the WILDFIRES on "Global Warming?"

So which is it, more rain or more drought?

or both, or neither???
Flying around DEWs doesn't help either with "wildfires."

It's BOTH! That's the whole point of the con, it works no matter what happens.

OMG. It’s ******* weather.

I tend to agree — at least for some. But on the other hand, I’m not sure they can entirely help it. Not to put too fine a point on it, but for most people, admitting you're wrong is one of the hardest things to do. Add to that the closed media ecosystem in the U.S., and you get a kind of epistemic isolation. Partisan thinking has shifted from just power politics to identity politics — and while that’s probably more intense on the Republican side, it’s not exclusive to them.

Let me put it this way: If your media environment doesn’t expose you to credible arguments for climate change — and if denying it affirms your political identity — can you really say you’d be likely to reach a different conclusion?

I’m not excusing denialism, but I do think we should be careful before broadly ascribing bad faith to such a large group of people. There’s more going on psychologically and socially than just cynical calculation.
I can hardly wait until the AMOC switches off and all this AGW nonsense gets put to bed.

No. Sane people have a wide range of sources for their information, so none have an advantage over the others. The crazies crowd around fox. Cult members are not the majority. They just tend to gather into one pile.
Sane people know that the theoretical GHG effect of a doubling of CO2 is 1C.

LOL Just taking FLA as an example. Avg. rainfall in 1897 - 57", 2024 - 57"

And sure enough, dammit, the CLIMATE IS CHANGING!

Just like it has been for millions of years.

Al Gore said - based on what he was told by climate scientists - that the Arctic would be completely ice-free by 2016. Last I checked, there was a huge amount of layered ice in the arctic regions.

What happened? Will it all melt in August?
Dumb ass, ever hear of the importance of rate of change? Do you understand that for a changing climate there has to be a driver? Whether it be a massive volcanic eruption, a change in atmospheric composition, or the Milankovitch Cycles.

Did you take that same geology course that Westwall did which made him an expert in a vast range of scientific studies, or are you just repeating a bit of drivel you picked up from some conspiracy theory site? What are your credentials that make your pronouncements credible?

So a Trump voter who does not watch Foxnews is not a member of "Trump's Cult?"
Of course he is. All fox followers are MAGA cult members, but not all MAGA cult members follow fox.
