The Warning Signs of a Combustible Presidential Transition

Many are quite concerned that if Trump were to lose..his disciples won't accept it. They say they'll take to the streets....Should be quite interesting.

President Donald Trump has long signaled that if he loses reelection, it would surely be illegitimate. With his base primed to believe that victory is the only acceptable outcome, the post-election period could be the most combustible in memory. This wrenching summer—and the Trump rally I attended here yesterday—provides a grim preview of what the weeks after the November 3 vote could look like, with a subset of Trump’s supporters already showing that they’re prepared to advance his interests in the streets.
When I asked Leo Walker, a 68-year-old retiree at the rally, whether the president’s backers would publicly protest a Biden victory, he said, “They’ll do more than that. They will take the country back.” By force? “They will take the country back. There’s no doubt in my mind.” Trump, Walker said, “can do no wrong.”

The weeks after the election could be “a very dangerous period” for the country, says Miles Taylor, a former senior official in the Homeland Security Department, whose agents were deployed to quell recent police-violence protests in Portland, Oregon, against the wishes of the state’s leadership. Taylor left the agency last year and has since emerged as an outspoken critic of the president. “I talk to law-enforcement officials all the time who I used to serve with, and they’re nervous about November and December,” he continued. “We’re seeing an historic spike in gun sales. There’s some of the worst polarization in United States history. This is beyond a powder keg. This is the Titanic with powder kegs filled all the way to the hull.”

In interviews at the rally here yesterday afternoon, Trump supporters told me a Biden victory is so implausible that it could come about only through corrupt means. Latrobe sits in a county where Trump defeated Hillary Clinton four years ago by a 2–1 margin, and no one I spoke with thought Trump was in any real danger of losing this race either.
Walker spoke of a potential “revolution” were that to happen. “He ain’t got a prayer,” Walker said of Biden. “He can only win with fraud.
“That’s the only prayer, and that will cause the third and final revolution in this country,” he added, citing the Revolutionary War and the Civil War.
It is far more likely that biden voters will continue the coup attempt than never really ended in trumps first term

we are a deeply divided nation on the verge of a bloody civil war

If so, either way it goes will be very short-lived. The Left is vastly outnumbered and out-gunned and, believing in nothing, would not be prone to die en masse for a childish impulse.

There's a real possibility we could have a fucking mess in two months. Constitutional crisis-type mess.

Hey, more chaos. We should be used to it by now.

Anyone who gets used to chaos has no respect for law and order.

Well, talk to the filthy dems about this. Chaos is their specialty.

Many are quite concerned that if Trump were to lose..his disciples won't accept it. They say they'll take to the streets...

So?

What's the problem? Let them take to the streets.

Our righty friends assured us, time and again, more often than I care to count, that conservatives do not riot. Conservatives hate riots. They detest riots. Under no circumstances whatsoever will there be a riot. We will be having the privilege to behold the most polite, gentle-to-a-fault protests the world has ever seen. On the days of their demonstrations, police can take a day off, since the streets will be safer than on any day before, or thereafter.

There is nothing wrong with that, and nothing to fear.

I'm not a disciple of Trump, I'm an American war veteran, and the only people who think Biden can win are the disciples of hate, and the reality is you will all swiftly die if and when you go for it, you have poked the bear and he is rousing himself, and god help you once he's full awake, god help you!
***Yawn***

Uh-huh. Has it occurred to you that the tail can wag the dog for only so long..and the Right, like it or not, is a minority party...if not for Karl Rove...the Right would have been frozen out of the process altogether, making Trump moot.

I too..am a veteran..who served in time of war. I feel i fought for the ideals espoused by both parties--who have now rejected those self-same ideals in favor of rolling around in the mud and playing dueling consultants.

The whole evil thing misses me..people is people. No one cares abut 'poking the bear..if either side gets too far out of line...well..then our govt. will, once again, squash civil insurrection--not for the first time, nor the last.

Btw, given that Biden would be President..I just don't like the bear's odds.

You must be a bit tipsy? The left far outnumbers the right in this country...if you take the numbers as a whole. Your whole premise is flawed--based on bad data. The reality is that the split, if there were a split..would be more urban vs rural. The Balkanization of the US seems more plausible these days.

I agree about the short-lived though....once the regular army hits the streets--most will call it a day.

In reality Hillary said that when Trump wins Biden should never concede
A concession is just being polite....which we have passed some time ago. It has no force of law..and the winner..is still the winner.

But yeah....no matter what happens...10's of millions of Americans are not going to be happy.

And hundreds of millions won't give a toss.

Fuck you are, you're just a typical lying fascist, loaded down in victimhood, and hatred, beyond that your post was literally speaking, "incoherent!" As to my post, you fascist baby killers have poked the bear, and he is now up, and hungry, you have disgraced this great nation via the most despicable and evil of collective comportment, no wicked thing has been beneath you evil fuckers, I personally hope you fools truly push the issue, the response will be swift and final... :th_BlackHelicopter:

Everyone should relax. Trump will win in a landslide because we're gonna steal this election. Democrat votes are going to be destroyed everywhere.

“Many are quite concerned that if Trump were to lose..his disciples won't accept it.”

Perhaps – but it won’t make any difference.

Trump supporters, conservatives, and other on the right are all talk and no action.

They’ll piss and moan and lie about ‘cheating’ and ‘fraud’ but they’re fundamentally cowards.

Tell that to the three violent felons killed by a 17 year old you pseudo intellectual jackass.

The Dems will not bring out their "found" ballots until they know for sure how many they need to steal the election.

You'll find out if and when it's necessary.
Dufus..I live in Idaho..not a thing is going to change here. YOU'LL find out....hopefully the lesson won't be the end of you.

Let me guess Boise? Am I right? :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg:
Nope....about 120 miles to the Southeast..right about on the Nevada line. Nary a Dem to be seen..but more than a few Trump-haters....still a minority though.

That puts you in Murphy Hot Springs. A nice town, but I think the only trump haters there would be you.

Just sayin..

I don't really think that it will go that far...on Jan. 20--he's just a private citizen---if Biden wins.

There isn't going to be a coup - not in the traditional sense of tanks rolling through Washington, White House occupied, TV-stations forced to promulgate the caudillo's propaganda, a major struggle ensuing over the control over the nuclear launch codes, military units with differing loyalties shooting at each other, and major opposition figures rounded up and turned into fertilizer in hastily dug-up mass graves.

As the Orange dunce has shown no qualms to use the institutions of the state and the power of his office to his own personal, political advantage, that's the more likely path forward. From purging voter rolls to shutting down or relocating, at the last moment, polling stations in neighborhoods populated by folks with a propensity to vote in ways that would inconvenience the Orange dunce, and extending to what the Russians have in store this time around... and what's a pandemic worth if not an opportunity to suppress voting? The tsunami of lies about mail-in voting has no purpose other than to prepare the ground for that.

We all know what White supremacists and other KKK-disciples are capable of - gunning down a lonely black jogger, shooting up a defenseless bible-study group at a black church, blowing up an unguarded federal building, or sending mail bombs... or, more recently, staging false-flag operations in the proximity of anti-White-supremacist protests and then gloating as liberals struggle to qualify their support. That's more than enough damage and mayhem, but the organizational structure to mount a coup does not seem to be there. Yet.
