The Sturgis Freedom Folks

The Government ain't going to tell me to wear a mask!! :dev3: says the Sturgis biker crowd.

You poor ignorant people just don't get it - do you??

* Stoplights are placed at intersections to keep cars from slamming into each other, which keep people from dying.

* Environmental laws make it illegal to poison our drinking water, which keep people from dying

* Mask requirements protect people from spreading COVID 19 - which keep people from dying.

Do you folks notice a pattern here??

Please stop politicizing this virus. The virus doesn't care if you're a Conservative or Liberal. The virus doesn't care which God you pray to. The virus doesn't care if you're a nice person. If you're infected, and you're body can't fight it off - you will die. Your Government isn't trying to take away your freedom, it's trying to save your life. Wear a mask, and keep your distance from others.

Sincerely -A Proud Liberal :bye1:

Not necessarily............in some cases masks actually help spread the disease. Just an Fyi for you. And yes, I wear my mask out in public---------to slow the transmission and to make others "feel" safer but lets face facts about the limits of mask wearing. You should also note that not all people are created equal in this virus's eye------libs have been getting hit harder than conservatives by far by this virus. Cuomo and other lib governors PURPOSELY spreading the virus by ordering nursing homes to take in the infected early on really raised the death toll in LIB controlled states. Even in Florida and Texas and other states being hit by the virus in parts----its the dem controlled cities and regions that are getting hit the hardest with the dem voting blocks being hit harder by this virus as well. Maybe the dems need to learn basics like HANDWASHING, and not rioting first before worrying about others wearing masks or showing up at bike rallies.

This said, the VIRAL LOAD likely has a lot to do with this virus killing people----------------during the summer months, the suns rays and heat normally weakening any virus killing many of the virus vectors hence its summer victims likely getting a lower dose and weakened dose of the virus when exposed which weakens the attack on those that are expose as well--------which is why I think that the flu doesn't kill as many during the summer. I don't think the rumors of the virus having mutated to a more easily spread butt less deadly form is accurate---I think people are tired of being locked down so are going to engage in all sorts of behavior that will spread the disease but atleast for now the virus under the sun isn't as deadly as it will be in the winter when exposed.

Oh and lets face facts-----pushing this disease is most certainly about governments seeking more power and more money for themselves..............(hence why Cuomo and the lib governors of both Pennsylvania and Michigan ordered that the infected be allowed into nursing homes where virus's are known to kill easily-------this was not by accident but by design resulting in the purposeful spread of the disease as they hoped that the federal government would send them billions $$$ based on the body count that they could funnel into theirs and their buddies pockets based on the FEAR of the number of dead. FEAR is often used by corrupt governments (especially among communists and socialists) to get people to give up their rights----

The Bikers are likely right----better to face the virus now during the summer than than hide in a corner fearing the disease allowing our politicians and globablists to run a muck killing the economy (and supply chains for food/toiletpaper and other items) and bankrupting the country which is going to cause more damage than the virus ever could.

well they probably have lots of bar fights.

I'm guessing you've never been to Sturgis, have you? Police presence is high and skirmishes are usually quelled pretty quickly...

have nothing against Harley rallies but they come from all over the US and go back home, they just had to do it while a pandemic is going on and schools are opening up. Disgusting.

Unless you're reacting the same to every fucking BLM 'protest" in this country, your whining falls on deaf ears...

But these people are smart?

That is a photo from Hong Kong from June, 2019.
The wewbsite where I got it said it was from LA.

Here's another:

After the 3rd year of going to Sturgis, I was over it. Lots of fun to be sure, but it's expensive, and it also seems that Sturgis is where yuppies go to learn to ride their Harleys. I think I saw an average of 3 - 4 wrecks per day while I was there.

When you consider how many bikers are there, though, 3-4 wrecks per day isn't that high a percentage. In 2000, there were an estimated 633,000 attendees. If 50 of them had wrecks, that percentage is so small as to be statistically non-existent.

More often than not, the wrecks I've seen there have been seasoned bikers who've gotten far too drunk and then decide they're going to try to ride. Honestly, the yuppies are the ones who are the most careful...

Granted, the town of Sturgis gets around 75 percent of it's annual income over the rally, but with this pandemic thing going on, it's a bad idea to have the rally in the middle of the virus pandemic.

South Dakota sees an influx of over $800 million from the rally, and Sturgis actually gets almost 95% of its annual revenue from the rally. Think about that: the other 5% of their revenue is spread out over the remaining 355 days of the year. That's crazy.

In June of 2013, I was driving from Oregon to Pennsylvania and stopped in Sturgis. I stopped into the Knuckle Saloon for lunch. For those who've never been there, Sturgis bars are pretty huge (The Knuckle is about 25,000 square feet, sitting on a 45,000 square foot lot). I sat at the bar, ordered a burger, a coke and a cup of coffee. I looked around and saw that the place was pretty much empty. There were, maybe, half a dozen other patrons, and that's probably being generous.

I asked the bartender how they could operate a place so big with so few customers. She said "The rally." She told me that The Knuckle brings in enough revenue in the ten days of the rally to pay for their operating costs for the entire year. Payroll for some 60 people, taxes, supplies, food, beverages, mortgage (The Knuckle is up for sale for $6.2 million), everything is paid for, and they still make a healthy profit at the end of the year...

And no, social distancing isn't really possible in Sturgis, as there are too many people, and too little space for all of them.

Which is no different than any of the BLM riots we've seen recently. I wouldn't be real concerned...

Seat belts, motorcycle helmets, automobile inspections. All there for our safety.
It's all part of the liberal nanny state. Damn liberals trying to control every part of our lives. Damn libs in my county want to pass more nanny state laws making it illegal to text and drive. When will the nanny state end?
Damn Liberals trying to keep people from dying.

Don’t smoke, wear a seat belt, wear a motorcycle helmet, wear a mask

Mind your own business and let me die if I want to
So you have to have the government do it for you?
Why not take it to a dealer for that inspection?
You just love government intervention/
Considering its a law in my state, yes I do it legally.
If it were not a law I would still have my mechanic check out my car once a year.

It's nice you can afford to have your car inspected once a year. Poor people cant. Why do you hate poor people?

If he can afford to get his car inspected, he can afford Voter ID.
