ALL claiming their God was the only "true" god?

If "god" was not "all powerful", then maybe I could see it.
But since it is claimed he is....then there's more evidence pointing to a twisted, evil deity,...than to a loving one.

Would YOU place the most beautiful pot of delicious candy in a room with your children, then actually condemn them for all eternity if they dared sneak a piece of it? That would be a bit sadistic now wouldn't it...if not downright insane?

When I was a teenager and my aunt was assigned to a USAF base in Izmir, Turkey, she, a male Turkish friend of hers, my mother, and I when swimming at a luxury hotel near her apartment. I went off the high board and the top of my bathing suit slid down when I hit the water. I fixed the problem before I hit the surface. The man with us later told me that his bathing trunks slid down. Like science, our understanding of God has grown over time. Our understanding of how language evolves has not helped matters either. The etymology for omnipotent (all powerful) has its foundation in "all power that is possible to have"--or the one who is most powerful.

God is spirit and works at the spiritual level. He has created beings with free will, which means some of His power is self-limited in order for us to have this freedom. I have bathed and looked after a few dogs who were not being cared for. Do we blame God for people who do not properly care for their pets? Do we bless God for putting a few caring people into their lives? Do we understand that spiritual growth takes time? Just like we do not expect first graders to understand higher math, we cannot expect everyone to be at the same level of spiritual growth. Also remember, even the greatest mathematicians are still capable of error. Same is true in spiritual growth.

Perhaps you are too hard on both God and humanity? Having high expectations of people is not such a bad thing, but people sometimes need a break as well.

I'll always wonder why the three Abrahamic religions have so much animosity toward one another, not to mention the thing between the Hindus and the Muslims. How about everybody just go their way, be friendly, and get together for a potluck once in a while?
