The Odyssey....I got a bad feeling about this one

If a person isn't Asian or Negroid, they are .... ????
Australoid :) or Elves?

1. Where the Word Came From

The term was coined in the late 18th century by German anatomist Johann Friedrich Blumenbach. He divided humanity into five groups and labeled people of European and West Asian descent as "Caucasian" because he believed the most "beautiful" human skulls originated from the Caucasus Mountains region in modern-day Russia.

Genetic Reality vs. Social Construct

Modern geneticists and anthropologists agree that race is not a biological fact. Biological traits (like skin color) exist on a spectrum, and there is more genetic variation within a single population than there is between different populations.
While "Caucasian" is not a valid biological category, it functions as a social construct used to describe people of primarily European, Middle Eastern, or North African descent.

  • United States: The term is commonly used as a synonym for "white" on medical forms, official censuses, and in everyday language.
  • Europe & The Caucasus: It is rarely used to describe ethnicity. In this region, "Caucasian" properly refers to the indigenous people who actually live in the Caucasus Mountains (such as Georgians, Chechens, and Armenians).

I believe it to be far more complex to define the "original" homo sapiens - from who later more "racial" distinctive features developed.

My favorite candidate for "original" homo Sapiens - factually looks like this - not to mention their unbelievable tracking and survival skills.

Not necessarily - after all she is the centerpiece of the Homer epos Ilias - the very same book that led Schliemann to discover Troy Mycenae, Pylos, and Tiryns. King David - approximately the same period was regarded a myth too - until they found his name on a Moabit stone scripture.

So far she is not a "historical proven person". - as none of these Trojan/Ilias characters are, incl Odysseys.
So if she and that 10 year siege is just a fictitious add on - in a summary novel referring to all these Troy and Creek rivalry and wars - or if a ten year siege actually culminated in the destruction of Troy's dominant position - who knows?
She is zeus' daughter. She isnt real.
She could be based off a real person that perhaps led to the trojan war. If that even happened. I know they did find what they think was troy, and that it had war damage. But that doesnt mean much.

Superman is from another planet. Little Mermaid is a fish woman. Helen is a myth. Skin color makes no difference for characters unless it is part of the story. Those characters and even Captain Kirk and Spok can be any color. A movie about slavery in the US requires casting colors but not myths or space stories. You all are crazy.. or racist... probably both.

The stories of cultural mythology belong to the people that spawned them. Helen of Troy is not black. Zeus is not black. Black people have their own stories.

This movie is going to fail spectacularly.

That would be Greek mythology - were Zeus is supposedly the father of numerous "notable figures". See Achilles and his mother supposedly being Thetis, an immortal sea-nymph.
If she Helena did exist - she would have been a normal (maybe extreme pretty, smart and elegant women) so naturally Zeus or some other deity comes in. Also it would raised the "bridal-price" noticeably. ;)

It only "could" mean much in conjunction of Schliemann having found the other sites such as Mycenae and others as well. What is interesting to note in the Illias - are those travel-reports around Troy during the siege - reporting of numerous "kingdoms" such as those headed by "lost" Greek brothers. - Philistines?? and others in the Levant incl. Egypt (Thebes) and Sidon/Phoenicia - but no mentioning of some monotheistic kingdom or people, aka an Israel. Taking into account that the Illias encompasses a time-frame from around 1300BC to 800 BC.

Just had to bring Israel into it, didn’t you?

Must have it on the brain.
