I don’t believe he is doing the talking himself but CCP hawks are pulling his strings. China has been saying the country is open to foreign business dating back decades but in reality, no. Yes if foreign companies agreed to “technology transfer”, which means I am gonna steal your technology, build my own, and undercut you on the open market. This was one of MHI’s (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) complaints about the high speed rail technology. US and Japanese companies learned the hard way. Intellectual rights, forget it. Foreign companies patenting an invention or product is practically worth less than toilet paper in China.I believe in talking with your enemies rather than simply going to war with them.
I also think Trump is brilliant when it comes to negotiations.
Having said that, my level of distrust for China is a 30 on a scale of 1-10. Xi is truly one of the most evil people on the face of the Earth.
I'm not sure this opportunity is one worth taking.
Correction: Kawasaki Heavy Industries
US accuses China of “industrial-scale” AI theft. China says it’s “slander.”
Trump-Xi summit may be rocked by US mulling huge sanctions.
