Really? Now look at your signature line. Imagine Trump put into prison 1600 citizens for attending a no kings rally? A day you would think lives in infamy. This type of rigid thinking is why so many conservatives remain ignorant throughout their lives.
It's sad, you're missing out on so many things because Rush Limbaugh said it was left-wing or progressive or some other stupid shit, and now you're old and don't know anything because you listened to Limbaugh during your formative years and missed out.
Atlas Shrugged is the most mind-numbing novel ever written. Not to mention so many "Liberals" also have rigid thinking and closed minds.
Try suggesting the read Ayn Rand or watch the movies, as one example.

If it weren't for "gratuitous and unnecessary shots at conservatives" the OP would have little to say. Especially anything original or of merit.Because the OP took gratuitous and unnecessary shots at conservatives, I can't trust his judgment and will not see yet another stupid movie.
Whereas your form of rigid and limited thinking is based upon the first dose of regressive Marxist pravda poured into your brain in middle school by a pseudo-liberal teacher that has locked you and other "liberals" in a narrow band of ignorance that prevented your intellectual and emotional growth beyond pre-puberty.This type of rigid thinking is why so many conservatives remain ignorant throughout their lives.

This came out on video streaming today. If you have Apple plus or prime membership or something like that, you can purchase it for $24.99.
I think you really missed out if you didn’t watch it in the theater but if you have an amazing system at home, you might have a good time with it also. I have a 56 inch curved monitor for my gaming PC that has amazing headphones that I bet will be great to watch this on.
Anyway, I highly recommend it.
I'd say give it a try. Most people enjoyed it.Yeah, I have a 50 inch screen, and I turn out all the lights and watch movies like this.
I love space movies.........well, good ones. And it's been a LONG time since a GOOD scifi space movie has come out.
I actually started to watch it. Didn't even get to the bit where he met the alien, boring. And the actor deciding it had to fit his "acting style" made it even worse. So the author and screenwriter that wrote "The Martian" starring Matt Damon that nearly everyone likes teamed up together to give us "Hail Mary".
Hail Mary is getting great reviews and doing well at the box office.
I saw it last night with my wife and we both loved it. We also both read the book. Wife liked the movie better. It's one of my favorite recent books so I dont know that I can say "better" than the book but I did love the movie as much.
One of the things the old folks on this board will like is the minimal use of CGI and the reliance on physical set pieces.
- $200M was spent making the movie
- They built a life size spaceship to shoot the scenes in and CGI'd in some details.
- Their is an alien life that is puppet and animatronics not CGI and it adds to the immersion
The sound and visuals were stunning. If you can see and hear it on IMAX go see it - I'll lend you money if that's an issue LOL.
Even you right wing nuts can be ok without worrying about losing your anti-woke card. Sure its an international event but the white guy American gets the billing, played by a Canadian of course. So maybe you will have complaints.

Everyone has an opinion. Most people like it. You must not have liked the Martian either. Just not your genre.I actually started to watch it. Didn't even get to the bit where he met the alien, boring. And the actor deciding it had to fit his "acting style" made it even worse.
I've read the Martian and seen the movie, I liked both.Everyone has an opinion. Most people like it. You must not have liked the Martian either. Just not your genre.
Hmmm... not sure how you could get through that book of sciency stuff but not have the capacity to watch a two hour abbreviated version of it. The Martian had far less action and drama. The movie the Martian has the storm at the beginning, an explosion near the middle, and the lift off at the end. Everything else was slow reveals. Plus the stakes were pretty low in the Marian. Very interesting. I liked both books and both movies.I've read the Martian and seen the movie, I liked both.
I read the Hail Mary Project before I watched the movie, and I liked the book too.

The movie he was seemingly younger than the middle aged guy in the book - especially if you did the book on audio which is as good as reading in my opinion as I did both... his voice is older. So I can see how that would throw someone off however I dont watch movies to get the exact same story and feeling as the book or why bother? Not really sure why you think I didn't like it.
A lot of the reason for not liking it was the way the actor played the character. In the book he's a science teacher and a scientist. Not a goofball. Everything in the film was "hey, let's goof this up as much as possible".
No, I didn't have a problem with the Martian, it was different, obviously, less technical stuff. The movie he was seemingly younger than the middle aged guy in the book - especially if you did the book on audio which is as good as reading in my opinion as I did both... his voice is older. I hated One Battle After Another and everyone else seems to like that and I am not a huge fan of the Godfather so I get counter points of view on movies. They happen.
