The usual racial tripe was thrown around by the Democratic Party when the Supreme Court struck down VRA districts as unconstitutional, claiming that black representation would suffer in Congress as a result. Why then is Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL), a white Jewish woman, running for reelection in a new majority black district instead of bowing out and supporting black candidates? The reason is simple. It's never been about losing black members in Congress. It's been about losing easy Democratic seats in Congress.
