Fascism is a means to an end. It could just as easily be used by the left as the right.Fascism has a lot more to it, and comes only from the political right, but whatever. You like the word.
The reason is clear:They are not worried about 2 million foreign nationals crashing the border in a single year, without vaccinations during a pandemic. Yet it seems insurrectionary for a government simply to nullify its own immigration laws.
The left looooves a totalitarian government....until they are no longer the one's controlling it.What then is behind this new left-wing hysteria about the supposed looming end of democracy?
It is quite simple. The left expects to lose power over the next two years—both because of the way it gained and used it, and because of its radical, top-down agendas that never had any public support.
I find you pretense that you understand nuance and complexity utterly hilarious.Somewhere along the line, they lost the ability to discern any distinction between wild hyperbole and fundamental reality.
Virtually everything is 100% for them. Nuance and complexity confuse and confound them. Don't agree with them, and you're a pure commie or a pure fascist. Or, somehow, both.
There are no colors or shades in their worlds, only stark, simple, shallow black and white.
Well, I'll push back on this, again: That's not what fascism is. You're talking about intolerance, maybe autocracy or authoritarianism. Fascism has a lot more to it, and comes only from the political right, but whatever. You like the word.
This is not the first time Sarah Silverman has criticized the left for being too judgy. She had a show a while ago, I forget the name, where she just spoke to people from the right wing; not necessarily about politics, but just about regular life things, and it was brilliant. The point she made was that the best way for people from the left (such as herself) to get through to people from the right is not to accuse and insult and attack and degrade and all that, but just to see them as humans and let them see you as the same. I wish more people would do that.
So yeah, I understand her saying that the close-mindedness and intolerance "doesn't feel very liberal" to her. That is an issue in the liberal world these days.
since the right is both racist and nationalist. Fascism has to come from the right because fascist are also both racist and nationalist. Take for example Hitler, both anti-jew and anti-marxist. Another example is in Umberto's 14 common features of fascism, especially feature #5, "fear of difference". And finally, fascism is anti-democratic; who is currently suppressing voters?Fascism definitely does not come from the right, which believes in the free market and limited government. Fascists like you support socialism and big government.
There's nothing inherently right-wing about nationalism or racism. The left-right paradigm is a measure of how much you believe in socialism, and nothing more.since the right is both racist and nationalist. Fascism has to come from the right because fascist are also both racist and nationalist. Take for example Hitler, both anti-jew and anti-marxist. You're welcome to man up, for a change, and toss out a few issues as examples, and we'll find out. You pick: Economics, Race, Abortion, Immigration, Health Care, you name it. Let's see which one of us has a grip on the nuance and complexity of the issues.I find you pretense that you understand nuance and complexity utterly hilarious.

American liberals are at a crossroads as to which totalitarian system they want more. AOC, Comrade Bernie, and friends want Stalinist communism. Pelosi and the get rich liberal crowd want fascism. At the moment it's acceptable to consider them both, until their own infighting decides the issue.Hate to break it to you but one can't be communist and fascist at the same time. Do some research on the 1930s Spanish Civil War.
how would one tell them apart?Fascism is a form of totalitarianism.
with the murder of Giacomo Matteotti, the nationalists came to power.Actually, reference Benito Mussolini, not Hitler.

1. Powerful and Continuing NationalismFascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human RightsBecause of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of \u201cneed.\u201d The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying CauseThe people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial, ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.4. Supremacy of the MilitaryEven when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.5. Rampant SexismThe governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.6. Controlled Mass MediaSometimes the media are directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media are indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.7. Obsession with National SecurityFear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.8. Religion and Government are IntertwinedGovernments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.9. Corporate Power is ProtectedThe industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.10. Labor Power is SuppressedBecause the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed.11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the ArtsFascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free _expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.12. Obsession with Crime and PunishmentUnder fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations13. Rampant Cronyism and CorruptionFascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.14. Fraudulent ElectionsSometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections. |
Federzoni started out as a Nationalist but he changed to Fascism. He and his organization called itself Nationalist but when Mussolini defined a working Fascist Government, they learned that they were actually Fascists and began calling themselves such. Both helped to found and run the National Fascist Party You can pin National onto anything but the NFP is what Mussolini used to gain his power. I suggest you study up on the Spanish Civil War where the Socialists fought the Fascists and the Fascists won.with the murder of Giacomo Matteotti, the nationalists came to power.
Both Federzoni and Rocco were nationalists and opposed to liberalism.
